You will need (2) of these dual 4 ohm voicecoil subs to get a 4 ohm load on that amplifier.

The lanzar site does not have the manual, but you will get them in the box when you purchase. It will state the proper ported enclosure size.

it depends on the amp what can it handle. will it do 2 4 or 8 ohm is it 1 ohm stable are the subs dual 2 ohms or dual 4 ohms. 1042s are dual 4 ohm subs so if you wire them both in paralel it will drop both subs into a 2 ohm load for each sub that is pos of one coil to pos of sec coil then pos to pos on amp and same with neg to neg to neg on amp. now if your amp is 1 ohm stable i would do both subs the same way you will get the most power out of the amp. but itll run a littl hot if you dont have adaquate power running to the amp. now i wanna think your alpine amp maybe only 4 ohm stable. i would run both subs like i had said pos to pos then neg to neg now both subs will be a 2 ohm load so what you do to bring it back up to 4 is you run the 2 bridged subs into a series which is pos from one sub to neg of the other sub the remaining pos and neg will run to the amps pos and neg. which will make it into a 4 ohm load. now the last scenereo is your amp is 4 ohm or 2 ohm stable. this is how to wire it to 2 ohms and not 1. take one sub go pos to neg then pos to pos on amp and neg to neg on amp this will make an 8 ohm load with one sub take other sub and do the same neg to pos on sub then pos to pos on amp and neg to neg on amp this will tell amp to run a 2 ohm load. 2 ohms is a good run for these subs if the amp can handle a 2 ohm load. now if you would have given the amp model number i could have looked it up to just give you what you needed but with this short info i gave all possibilities.

I have a Bazooka sub that is about 18 inches long. black ,6 inches in dia. A red and a black terminels for speaker wires, but no visible power wires. How do you wire this sub up? It was in my car but...

It would only require a power connection if it had an amplifier built into it. Since it doesn't, you need to have an external amplifier and wire its speaker output to the sub.

connect negitive from sub 1 to positive on sub 2 this makes it 4 ohms and especially with that amp you have it will still kick some hard hitting bass good luck

    Soundstorm amp

most generic pre-gabs tend to be 1.75cu ft, however to be properly tuned, you need the T/S parameters and/or tuning frequency.
Look around on the net, you may get lucky. Lanzar does not have it as a download on their page. Maybe a call to their customer service would net you the information!

    Soundstorm amp

I wrote it in my solution to the original question.
You are shooting for a 4 ohm load.
so a single 4 ohm driver, a dual 2 ohm driver, or (2) dual 4 ohm drivers will do the trick.
Bridge the amplifier @ 4 ohms to get the most power.

Amp and Stereo hooked up, no sound coming from the sub

It sounds as though either the sub or amp is blown. When an amp blows quite often the light will still light, but the internals are trashed. The only surefire way to tell whats going on is to use a Digital Multi-meter to check the impedance of the sub, and the voltage at the amp. You can get a multimeter as cheap as $10 at most autoparts stores, Radioshack, Sears, etc...
Also, always post brand names and model numbers, because more info equals more help.

    2 Subs running together

If they have the same impedence (like 4 ohm) then you should be able to run two different model number speakers as if they were the same model number. There might be a slight difference in the way they sound, but I would not expect it to be enough to be noticeable. Good luck.

take a look there and it should give you everything you need and show you the different options for the different ohm loads. Remember... don't go below 4 ohms on those. Above is ok, below is not.
