There is no generic Horizontal Transistor for all Sony Televisions. Having repaired many different tyupes of sets over the years, the only thing that will help you is a set of schematics, and the model numbers on the transistor. You will need the schematics to find/check the other components in the display circuit that may also be bad. Very rarely did I just need to replace a HT without other power supply components as well.
Nowadays, it really does not pay to bother opening most CRT sets anymore. If you can get the schematics, you usually spend $25-$35 just on those, before you get into the actual repair.

or replacment, you can call a company named andrews electronics, give them your model number and ask them cost of power supply board..
how long have you had your tv, and what i had found out is that after replacing the power supply board my tv went out a second time but i had gotten a warranty and then another power supply board was replaced and it would not come on, for 2-3days, so everyday i would just keep on pluggin it up and one day it came back on and i havent turned the tv off yet, what i was told by the tv repair man was that i needed a picure tube, and he said sony knows these tv has alot of problems, i tried contacting sony but was given the run around, i just wont by sony products anymore as they dont stand behind there product

sound like problem with regulated parts block.....and can more helpfull if you count the blinking of the LED....sony have selft diagnostic at the LED Blinking.....
Power supply failure! Requires several steps==
1)Pull main board & power supply board
2)Check horiz output xistor = shorted? Replace w/ first quality
3)Carefully solder horiz drive circuitry from HDT to base of o/p
4)On power board--replace shorted converter transistors 2SC4834 and R607 .1 ohm 1/2 watt fusible
5)reassemble. Let me know how it goes.....T.
What is the designation (the letters/numbers printed on the board right next to the part) of the part? If it is a cpacaitor then it is cesignated Cxxx, but I have a feeling you are looking at a VDR, or voltage dependant resistor that Sony loves using in their power supplies. A VDR will test completely open on an ohm meter and open on a cpaacitance meter, which means it is good. A VDR that shows resistance on an ohm meter is bad and will probably have a burned resistor (typically 10 ohms) next to it. A wise tech would NOT replace a VDR that measures open!
