SOURCE: electric dryer only blows cold air......no heat

Your problem is associated with the heater element and or thermostats, you need to access these in order to determine the prob.
You have to lift the top cover and remove the front panel to do this.
Depending on your model of dryer, there are at least 2 ways to get into the dryer

It would take too long to fully explain the different ways to get into the dryer,so try this site which should give you all the info you need.

then click on free repair help then click on dryers, and then on my dryer will not heat up.

SOURCE: Dryer heats but after 10 minutes is cold

you can replace te coils mounted atop the valve itself, somtimes after the heat up they nologer allow the gas valve to come on..paret number 279834 comes as akit with both coils!

Hi, If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heatingthe most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glowssometimes it is still not working properly. if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip.... If you have an electric dryer, you can have many differentthings that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat. check outthis electric no heat tip...

I have a roper gas dryer when on auto setting it heat for about 5 mins then blows cold air till you shut it off will not go off on its own and if you put it on the 30 min high heat it get hot for about 10...

More than likely it is the gas valve coils. Had same problem and replaced them and it works fine now.

My dryer does the same thing. Additionally, it is not heating what so ever. Clothes are cool and damp, and heating vents at back of dryer are cold to the touch.

camaro Most likely the problem is bad gas valve coils located on the top of the gas valve . Unscrew the two screws holding the coil bracket and replace the coils. The part number for the Whirlpool gas valve coils is 279834. Good luck Gendos, post back
