Desktop cases come in a variety of designs but they all share a similar feature; the motherboard is fastened in the special tray attached to one internal side panel of the case. Typically you need to open the opposite side panel to access the inside of the case.
Unplug the power cords from the back panel of the computer and from all attached peripherals.
Depending on your computer's set up, you might also need to disconnect other cables and peripherals, including keyboard/mouse, network and video cables. Turn the computer around to face its back panel.
Unscrew two screws on that fasten the side right panel of the case.
Modern cases typically use thumbscrews; loosen and then remove such screws with your fingers. Other cases employ release buttons that you need to push. Consult your computer owner's manual if in doubt.
Slide the case side panel back to open the case.

under the decals on ether side are four screws remove these and
separate the sides under these you will find white wedges that hold the case halfs together pull out these wedges and open the case. repair unit and Reverse the prosess to reassemble the unit. If you know how to work on electronics you may need to replace the electrolitic capacitors while the case is open. Kill 2 birds with one stone.
