hello waiyasin, this altec lancing don't need a driver, it just plug and play hardware. if there is a problem with the driver, try to install sound driver from your motherboard driver. if u use external sound card, try to install sound driver from the sound card driver. if u have problem how to install the driver then u just need open the device manager. u can find it on control panel. once u open the device manager window, insert motherboard driver (or sound card driver if u use external driver) into CD Rom. in device manager window u will find sound or audio device, right click it and choose update driver then follow the instruction. that's it.
hope this useful, regards.
NB: if u don't have motherboard (or sound card driver) try to goggling it or reply this solution with your motherboard name (or sound card name), maybe i can help to find your driver.

No sound after installing W7 and updates

It sounds like the drivers for your sound card did not come with W7, which wiped out your old ones when it reformatted for the new install. If you know the brand of your sound card, you can probably download the drivers you need on the company's website. If you don't mind spending a few dollars, you can do what I do on every computer I load an operating system on - go to and do a scan. If it shows drivers for your audio (and probably for a few other systems, as well) you can buy a subscription and download every driver you need through them. (You can also use it on up to ten computers.) It has sure saved me a few times!

Error code 88780078

Check these things:

1) Click the Start menu button > Click Control Panel (Or Settings > Control Panel), Click Sounds and Audio Devices > Click the Audio Tab: Do you have a Default Device listed under Sound Playback and MIDI playback?

This also may say "Available Device" which you could change to the other option in the drop-down menu as a test. If you change it, restart first, and then attempt sound.

2) Press and hold "Windows Logo" Key + Press the "Pause Break" key on your keyboard > Click Hardware tab > Click Device Manager:

Do you have a multimedia driver configured and installed with no problems. (Problems being exclamation points or with a red "x")?

There are many other issues that can cause this. Please check these first and let us know.

New speakers not working computer says no audio installed

Hi, you should install the audio driver for your new speakers to work. If you don't know where you can find the driver, drop me a comment and post the manufacturer and model name of your motherboard or sound card so I can assist you further. And also the Operating you are using now. Your computer says "No audio installed" because it is looking for the audio driver for your sound card.

Kinyo speakers will not work on my computer

First thing I would try is to figure out if this is a speaker problem or a system driver problem or hardware issue. First, try using headphones from an ipod and plug them into your computer and listen. Check for the input and not to mistake the miocrophone input. They should be clearly marked. If it works then its your speakers. If it does not work, you should try reloading your drivers. You can download the drivers from the company website or you may have the drivers on the system restore CD that came with the computer. Another thing to try is to reinstall the hardware. Sometimes, their is a confict when you install devices like webcams. You can verify that you do not have a problem by contacting the webcam company. Try contacting the manufacturer of the computer if it is within the last few years. Worst case, bring it in for a diagnostic to a local PC repair. Should be an inexpensive fix, less than 50.00 Hope I could help point you in the right direction Mike
