Question about HP Officejet 5610 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

HP 5610v states 'paper jam' and there isn't one - how to reset?

I had been trying to print on printable fabric. I've printed on these before without error. Today, while trying to print the first one, the fabric page caused the 'jam' message to pop-up, although the fabric had no bent corners, folds, etc. I figured the printer was having an issue picking it up because the backside is glossy (fusible iron-on side). I tried a new sheet, just in case, but the same problem happened.
I've turned the printer off and on, several times. When I open the print queue or try to print a regular document, the status on my computer just says 'Paper Jam' (or Paper Jam - Offline); however the status on the printer itself is normal and does not state anything wrong.
I'm trying to take the back off, but am having problems.
I've had this print/scanner for over 2 years now and have never had any problems.
I hope somebody can help - - -
Thank you!

I just solved my problem - sorry to bother anyone. :) I was confused because the carriage was not jammed either. I had taken the back off, and there was absolutely nothing that had jammed.

I found the solution at the very bottom page, on this HP website, Step Seven:

Thanks and I love this site!

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this, is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

Why is my hp 5610v not printing on cardstock?

Are you print through manual bypass? If not try doing it that way. Card stock is very thick and by using manual bypass it doesn't require as many turns for the card stock.

Orange light blinking, cleared paper jam, changed printer cartridge, won't print subsequent documents.

Double check all doors/ rollers for small pieces of paper stuck in the rollers. Sometimes just opening the door in question and closing will reset the paper jam sensors. Paper jams can be smaller than your pinky finger nail. So double check,

Comment if it still isn't working.

The Lexmark x342n all in one printer gives the error code 200.20 i took out the paper jam and tried to print again but it still gives the same fault i also can the drum and tried again but it only...

General tip: If the paper tears when you pull a jam out of the printer, spread the paper out and make sure you have all of the pieces. A small shred left inside can cause another jam.

"I also can the drum" - does this mean you discarded the printer cartridge? I've never seen a cartridge cause a jam. Usually an accordion-fold jam in this area is the result of the fuser rollers not turning or a torn fuser sleeve. A jam without an accordion fold indicates that the paper did not make it into the toner deposition area soon enough - this could be a problem with the pickup roller or the next set of rollers. Worn or dirty rollers can work intermittently before they quit completely.

Also, check the paper detection flag to make sure it isn't hanging up (this is a black plastic tab that sticks into the paper path just before the paper goes under the cartridge, and is pushed up or down by the paper). Look for the U-shaped optical detector that is interrupted by this flag, and make sure it isn't blocked by foreign material.

States paper jam when I go click to print?

That's happened to me before on my HP printer. Try opening the printer and checking for any paper that might be jammed. Look very carefully, if you find paper that's jammed, carefully remove it. Close the printer. If you have the option to hit OK to clear the jam on the printer, do so, and then try re-printing.
