Re: SONY DCR SR60 with broken LCD - Replacement parts
If you do a Google search for 'digital camera parts' the first listing is a website that can help you. The LCD is $55 with shipping, and takes about a week before it is shipped as it is a special order item. The website name is: Darntoothysam com
How do I know this? I own the business, that's how. We specialize in LCD and lens repair for affordable prices. If we can help please let us know.

The Other LCD models are not fit to your camcorder.

Your LCD is this. If is suitable for you then you may buy it.
This happens when flexible wire between LCD board and camcorder board got broken or cracked. Camcorder needs that connecting flexible wire replacement, let me know exact model of Sony camcorder if you need part number of flexible wire. Thanks.
flexible wire connecting between LCD board and camera main board is cracked or broken and requires replacement. Let me know to provide you part number of flexible wire if you want to replace it yourself.
I also got the problem of LCD screen not displaying anything (HCR 21E). Since I am an electronics engineer, I opened it on this weeked. And saw that flex wire for LCD has two parts (a) part for touch screen (b) part for lcd display. And in my case part (b) is broken. I checked that part on Sony website and it costs 22 USD.
I am not sure, how much will they charge for repairing.
The LCD screen on my Sony gradually lost the image. It is caused by the flexi/ribbon cable that runs from the camera body to the inside of the LCD screen breaking down. The copper tracks have broken. They may sometimes touch to give you a connection , but it will get worse. A replacement flexi is the only answer.
For my DCR-IP1E it cost me £31 (thats uk money....not dollars)
Sony Part Number A-7111-611-A (FP733 Mount) Taking the old one out was slightly tricky, putting the new one in is very tricky! I work in electronics, so I could achieve it but if you are not happy with electronic stuff, find someone who is.Straight forward for a repair shop expert. Tools needed? Just a small cross head screwdriver. Keep all bits with a note as you go along. Good luck.
