Acer aspire computer with liteon power supply PY300B00153201AA6E

Every 3 or 4 days my computer shuts itself down and wont start up again. I have to leave the computer unpluged for anything from 12hrs to 2 days before it will start again.
I suspect the power supply, what do you think, the power supply is a liteon PY300B00153201AA6E.
If i need to replace it where do i get one the same or better, not great with computers so would like to unplug one and plug other in.

Power supplies are easy to replace. usually 4 screws. open the pc. remove the screws and unplug it from the motherboard. a replacement costs 40-60 dollars. plug it into the same place(s) you unplugged the original pwr supply. replace the screws. replace the cover and thats it.

My new Acer Aspire 5734z shutdown the day before yesterday. It sometimes will let me stay a few secs in safemode but then shuts down again. I dont understand why and im not really good at fixing computers...

Please try fixing it by running LKGC.

Follow the steps below,

Step 1: Shut down your PC completely.
Step 2: Turn on the Power button.
Step 3: As soon as you turn it on start hitting the F8 key on your keyboard until you get to a black screen called "Windows Advanced option". (If you don't get to that that screen but you end up reaching the blue screen than that means you have delayed in hitting the F8 key. start again from step 1.)
Step 4: As soon as you reach "Windows Advanced option" use your down arrow keys to choose an option called "Last know good configuration".
Step 5: Select that and HIT ENTER.

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA and

the leads from your motherboard to your hard drive make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty

I have acer aspire 5920 vista when i shut down laptop i pressed acer arcade button then it started up and shut down again now it will not start up !all im gettin is restore settings .they dont work to...

tell me, are you able to get to the menu when you computer starts up (F8 options )

if so just go for the option last knowing good configuration.

it will start up as normal. if it does try to do a system restore from a few days ago.. restart again and it will work .

in case the F8 menu does not show up.try removing the battery for at least 3 days so the CMOS resets to default.

hope it works

The power button doesnt seem to be working

It sounds like a short in the button itself. If you have a soldering gun, take it apart and resolder the connection. This is typical for Acer laptops.
It's either the button itself or the jack where the power supply plugs in. It's not real difficult.

ACER Aspire 5100 powers down at will

When you turn the laptop on hit f8 until the menu comes up, try use the last good known configuration. If that does not work tap f8 goto safe mode and then to system restore and restore it to an earlier time. Let me know if it works.

go into the bios and make sure the USB controller are enabled, save settings and reboot if still same drivers are missing from the operating system, if you haven't got a password boot to windows and plug the keyboard in a different port to re-install the drivers. if you can't, does the computer support ordinary keyboards?

Computer shuts off

Maybe it's your power supply, I suggest you get a voltmeter and check the voltage on the power supply.

Good luck

My computer keeps restarting itself

  1. Start laptop
  2. When the laptops Logo page closes, start to press F8
  3. You should get a Windows Start screen
  4. If you get a Windows Logo page (the kind you normally get when Windows loads, then reset it and start again.
  5. On the Windows Start page select "Last known good configuration" and press enter twice

Not booting, then shuts down?

I had the same problem. The computer is getting to hot. I opened the case and removed and cleaned the fan. It was full of lint thus keeping the fan from cooling.
