Too many quick tabs open

I cant do any thing, i keep on getting this massege i have the 2000 version of Quicken.
all the sulutions thet i was able to find on the web didnt halp me, i hope you will have the rtite answer.

Right clicking on the bottom of the display gives you a small menu with a choice that reads "Close All Windows". Clicking on this makes the pesky error message go away.

    you can also close the tabs manually, one-by-one.

    The tabs are on the right (or left) side, with the names corresponding to your accounts or previously generated reports.

    Click on the tab- it will open that saved view.

    Click on the X (top-right corner) to close the window.

    Quicken has a built-in limit for the number of saved tabs (15, 20 - ?), thus that message

    This message will appear if 40 QuickTabs are already open or if computer resources are low.
    In the bar on the left of your Quicken window where you have the sub headings >> right click >> close all Quick Tabs.
    that should take care of the problem.

If you reinstall the software you will reset everything to factory settings.

    If the problem happened quite recently, then you can do a system restore, this will restore settings to date of saved restore point.

    If the problem is not fixed with system restore , or had been going on for a while, then try saving all your files and settings, uninstalling Quicken, and installing it back into the computer, possibly choosing a different folder.

    This should fix the problem.

How do you change VAT rate on Quicken 2002


You cannot do this on the normal account register, as you might have done in earlier versions of Quicken. You have to use two special registers, by creating a BUSINESS BILLS and a CUSTOMER INVOICES register. To do this tap the CREATE NEW ACCOUNT button, in the MY FINANCES screen, and select these registers from the dialogue box. When you receive a payment from a customer, open the CUSTOMER INVOICES register. Then... 1. Tap the TYPE box, and choose INVOICE from the drop down list. This will enter INVC into the box. 2. Look at the button under the BALANCE column. Instead of the usual SPLIT button, this is now labelled FORM. Click on this, and a Customer Invoice Form will appear. Fill in the details from the invoice you have received. Under AMOUNT enter the amount received, less VAT. In the V column, enter the symbol for the appropriate VAT RATE, and Quicken will calculate and enter the VAT amount. 3. Quicken will not print more than seven checks.


You may run into this problem if you use the 2005 or 2006 version of Quicken’s personal finance software (such as Quicken Basic, Deluxe, Premier, Premier Home & Business). If you try to print eight or more checks at once, they won’t print.

According to Quicken Help & Support, Intuit fixed this problem for both the 2005 and 2006 versions of Quicken. You’ll need to download and install the latest patch, which includes the fix for this problem. Quicken offers manual and One Step Update methods to update your version of Quicken with the latest patch. You’ll need an Internet connection to download the patch. If you have a dialup connection, connect to the Internet before you start any of the update methods below. Once you complete the patch installation, Quicken will be able to print eight or more checks.

To read Quicken’s solution for this problem, visit www.quicken.com, click Help & Support, and then select 2006 For Windows (make sure Quicken For Windows and Quicken 2006 appear in the Product fields). Next, type 2997 into the Search field and click Search.

Update Quicken 2005 manually

Click the file’s link. If you have Windows XP, a File Download – Security Warning may appear. Click the Save button. In the Save As window, choose a location to which you’d like to save the file and then click Save. When the download completes, simply double-click the file to start the patch installation.

Update Quicken 2005 Or 2006 With One Step Update

I installed quicken 2011, but am unable to turn the quicken sound on, Iused quicken help, which told me to go to file menue>preference, I did that but when I opened file i did not have the...

You can follow the following steps to have the sound enabled in Quicken 2011.

  1. Ensure your Quicken program has been updated to the latest release.
  2. From the Quicken Edit menu, choose Preferences, and then choose Quicken Program.
  3. Select Setup, and then select the Turn on Quicken sounds checkbox, and then click OK.
  4. If the issue persists, make sure that your speakers have not been muted and that the sound volume is correct (refer to your operating system's Help for instructions).
    Note:
    Quicken sounds will only be available if logged in using the same user profile that was used to install Quicken.
  5. If Quicken is unable to produce sounds despite following the above instructions, Reinstall quicken in selective startup.

Note: This process requires you to restart your computer.
Restart your computer in Selective Startup Mode, and then install Quicken.
To restart the computer in Selective Startup mode:
  1. Click the Microsoft Windows Start button and select Run.
  2. In the Open field, enter MSCONFIG, and then click OK.
  3. On the General tab, select Selective Startup, and then select Load System Services (ensuring all others are unchecked).
  4. On the Services tab, in the area below the scrolling list, be sure that Hide all Microsoft Services is not selected.
  5. Click Disable all to clear all selected services.
  6. Select Windows installer, and then click OK.
  7. When prompted, click Restart.
  8. When your computer restarts, run the Quicken installation from the CD-ROM.
    When you place the Quicken installation CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive, the Quicken installation should start automatically. If it does not, you can start it manually:

After the installation process completes, return your system to its previous configuration:
  1. Click the Microsoft Windows Start button and select Run.
  2. In the Open field, enter MSCONFIG, and then click OK.
  3. On the General tab, select Normal Startup.
  4. Click OK, and then click Restart.
the installation is not successful, try installing from your hard disk. For instructions see below.

Copying Quicken to your hard drive and installing it from there resolves many of the issues that can occur during installation.
  1. Right-click on your desktop and select New > Folder. This creates a folder named New Folder on the desktop.
  2. Place the Quicken CD-ROM in your computer's CD-ROM drive. If you are prompted to install Quicken, click No or Cancel.
  3. Click the Microsoft® Windows® Start button and select My Computer.
  4. Right click the CD-ROM drive with the Quicken CD and select Copy.
  5. Open the New Folder created in step 1.
  6. Select the Edit menu and select Paste. This copies the contents of the Quicken program from the CD-ROM to the hard disk. When the copy is complete, the DISK1 and Custom folders appear in the New Folder window.
  7. Double-click the DISK1 folder to display the contents, and then double-click Setup.exe.
  8. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Why can't I automatically download my transactions with Quicken 2002 when my OS is Vista


Quicken 2002 quit allowing downloads several years ago. If that is what you want, you need to buy a newer version.

Have 2001 quicken running on windows vista. when i try to print the check register, it says cannot open printer. i bought 2009 quicken and started to install, but it said it cannot save old register. it...


Dear Sir/Madam,

To resolve this issue:
  1. From the Quicken File menu, choose Printer Setup, and then select the form that you are trying to print.
  2. Make sure that all selections and settings in the Printer Setup window are correct, especially the selection in the Printer drop-down list.
  3. If all information is correct, click Cancel and proceed to step 4. Otherwise, click OK after making the necessary corrections, and then try printing again.
  4. If the message persists, exit Quicken.
  5. Click the Microsoft® Windows® Start button, choose Settings, and then choose Printers.
  6. Right-click your printer and choose Properties.
  7. Click the Advanced tab, clear the Enable advanced printing features checkbox, and then click OK. Restart Quicken and try printing again.
  8. If the message persists, exit Quicken.
  9. Double-click Add Printer and proceed through the Add Printer wizard until you reach the window that asks for the printer manufacturer and model.
  10. Select the manufacturer for ex. HP, and then select the printer HP DeskJet 550C (or any other HP DeskJet 500 series printer). Follow the onscreen directions in the wizard to finish adding the printer.
  11. Restart Quicken. From the File menu, choose Printer Setup, and then select the form that you are trying to print.
  12. Select the printer you added in step 10 from the Printer drop-down list and then click OK.
Completely uninstall the old version and install the new version. Before install clear registry and temp files. Update the latest driver for printer.

Using the same quicken file on two networked computers


After you install Quicken on both computers it is no problem. If you put the Quicken file (the data is on the file that ends in .qdf, on a flash drive (you should be able to get one for $15 or $20) , you can carry the file in your pocket on a key chain. Then any time you want to use the file just double click on the file and Quicken will open on either computer. Make sure yo password protect the file and also back it up to one of the computers frequently in case you loose the flash drive.

Quicken 2003 isn't recognizing my cable modem to access internet


Open Quicken and go to the menu bar, Click Edit, Click Preferences to open the drop down window and select, Internet Connection Setup and Web Connect. Options will show the different settings that can be customized.
