Pictures have lines running down them...

Every time I print out a picture,  vertical lines appear on it. It seems that they are from the rollers of the printer. But this has only just started happening. How can I fix this problem?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Unfortunately, I don't think that the roller would have worn out as the printer is relatively new and was only purchased 6 months ago. Could it be anything else?

C5800 printing vertical lines through pictures

The thin lines are caused by a worn out drum. Remove each drum in turn and look at the surface. It maybe hard to see the scratches and if so then send solid blocks of the primary colours one at a time and that will prove which drum is at fault.

Vertical streaks when printing pictures

vertical lines on prints usually means either the drum's cleaning blade is not cleaning the drum (or the drum is damaged) or the fuser is scored. scored means that the protective coating on the fuser rollers is damaged. I would check the rollers on the fuser (the hot part of the printer right near the paper exit) for any lines on it, if you look at your prints, you should see them in the same location on the fuser. if you do not see any lines on the fuser rollers, then replace the drum.

Two black vertical lines appear on copy, pdf, and scan results

  1. Unplug the power cord and the phone line from the wall.
  2. Open the control panel.
  3. Pull the roller lever forward, and then lift the white roller out of the All-In-One.
  4. Note: The scan lens is located under the white roller.
  5. Use a clean, lint-free cloth dampened with water to wipe the white roller and the scan lens.
  6. Reinstall the white roller.
