The "F113" error code means "Open temperature sensor".

The problem could be a bad sensor/wiring/ control board.

This stove is very complicated and you may be better to call for service.

GE Range Model # JBP24DB4WH. The surface red light is on continually even though the burners are off.

Hello,

The problem is going to be one of the switches for the burners is defective and even though its set to off the circuit for the indicator ligh on the switch is still on. It could be any on the 4 switches that is the bad one and to determine which one it is they must be checked. To check which switch it is,DISCONNECT POWER TO THE RANGE, gain access to the switches, use a multimeter set to measure ohms of resistiance and check hereoldtech2332_112.jpg
check those two wire terminals as indicated in that photo for continuity (zero omhs resistiance) when the switch is set to off and that will be the one thats causing the light to stay on when it has continuity when its set to off.

3 of the switchs are the same and the one for the LEFT FRONT burner is different (all look the same) the part numbers are

LEFT FRONT burner switch WB24T10029

the other 3 switches WB24T10025

They could be purchased at your local appliance store or online at;
apdepot.com
searspartsdirect.com
partselect.com
apwagner.com
repairclinic.com
I hope i have been able to help you fix your range,

Red light indicating a plate is hot stays continuously on.

I assume this is a smooth top model? One of the sensors on a burner is bad and can be replaced. It involves removing the top adn disassembling the burner. Not difficult by my standards but delicate work that requires some knowledge of electrical components.

Red light stays on indicating burner is on when burner is not on.

It should stay on after the burner has been turned off and remain on until the top has completely cooled down,if it stays on and never goes off, the thermostat for one or more burners is faulty and will need replaced.

I have a new ge range. When I turn on the left

mvek,
If you could see through the glass, you'd see "temperature sensors" located near the elements. They're very sensitive little guys, and rightly so! Their job is to detect temps and energize the warning light on the cooktop so users won't get burned.

To answer your question... It appears that there is an issue with the front left sensor (and possibly the right as well). The temp warning lamps should NEVER go off immediately. Please call for warranty repair (1-800-GE-CARES). This is an unsafe condition for you and your Family. The warning indicators are there for a reason and should indicate high temp's as long as high temp's are present.

Ignitor won't shut off

The Viking manual says that an ignitor that continues to try to light even after the burner has been lit indicates improper grounding, and that an electrician should be consulted.

Perhaps you could try to replace the ignitor, and see if that fixes the problem?

I have a similar age, 6-burner 36" rangetop.

Whirlpool electric range burner power light stays on but no heat

Hello givemeanidth.
Welcome to Fixya

You said, have a Whirlpool electric range (model rf363pxpt0) with standalone burners - the burner power indicator light stays lit whether the heat control knob is on or off, there is no heat coming from the burner on or off. You pulled the burner from the receptacle and one of the tabs broke off and stayed in the receptacle. You removed the tab and made sure no pieces remained in the receptacle then bought a replacement burner, no change. You put the replacement burner in the back burner of the same size and had heat within 10 seconds. You changed out the burner with the one that had been in the back of the range, no heat. As long as the breaker to the range is on the power light stays lit but no power to that one burner only.

What is the model number and the age of your range?

Waiting for your reply.

Burner will not turn off

I would first check the infinite control switch (#WB24T10029) the part the knob slips onto. The next thing I'd check is the erc (#WB27T10231) control board. Hope that is helpful!

Burner will not turn off

I will need the complete model #. There should be a sticker near the bottom front behind the drawer. Can't use the # that is on the owners manual.
