SOURCE: WLAN switch button does not work

Locate your wireless card compartment on your computer. It is probably on the back of it. Your computer manual should tell you where it is. Open the compartment and locate your wlan card. Remove it from your laptop for about 30 seconds, and then reinsert it and make sure that the proper connections to it are firm and secure. Close up the compartment. Turn on your laptop. Your laptop should search and recognize it. If it doesn't, then your wireless card probably quit working on you. If your computer is still under warranty, and if it doesn't recognize it after you have tried this, then you can contact your computer manufacturer and explain to them what happened. They should replace your wireless card at no charge. If you bought the wireless card from some other store, then take it to them and explain to them, and ask for a replacement wireless card.

SOURCE: wireless switch

Try Fn+F11. It worked for my friend who had the same problem on an Averatec n1000.

Acer 5100 will not connect to wireless

Things to Check:
1. Please check if the wireless switch on your laptop is ON?
2. Are you able to see your wireless network in the list of connections?

If the answer for both of the above is yes, then Turn OFF & Turn ON the Modem/Router.

Please delete all the connections that are stored on your laptop's wireless settings/Wireless connections and retry connecting to your network.

On your modem/router, please remove any security passwords and make the network accessible by any one any try connecting to the network. If the connection is successful, then reprogram the modem / router with a password.

Another easy fix to find if the fault is actually with your laptop is to go to a free public wireless hotspot and see if your laptop connects to their network. If it dd, its not your Laptop but your wireless modem/router.

Acer drop internet connection, not locating wireless connections Acer problems with wireless connections

You haven't provided us with much information, but I'd suggest a couple of things:
Check to see if your wireless adapter in the computer is turned on or off. Some computers have a little switch on the front or side that turns the wireless on. If on, somewhere on the computer there should be a small light lit up indicating that the wireless is on.
If there is no switch, then the wireless adapter may be turned on or off by a keyboard combo of the Fn key plus one of the special function keys. That particular key will have a little icon that resembles an antenna on it.
If you are unable to solve the problem by using the switch, try to do a system restore back to when it was working.
