Cannot insert replacement print cartridges in printer. Gap is too narrow. I have replaced cartridges many times without a problem. This is a H P Photosmart C 4180 All -in-one

Hello,

If the cartridges are physically larger than the opening, it could possibly be the wrong cartridges. You may want to verify that the model of cartridge is compatible with the printer model.

Do you have the right cartridge for the machine? could u have accidentally gotten the wrong cartridge?just wondering if that were possible

  1. Place the unit flat on a level surface.

  3. Pull the pink tab to remove the tape from the print cartridge.   4. Insert each print cartridge as follows:
    NOTE:
    • Insert the tri-color print cartridge in the slot on the left side, marked with a green label.
    • Insert the black (or photo) print cartridge in the slot on the right side, marked with a black and orange label.
    1. Hold the print cartridge with the HP label facing up.
    2. Push the print cartridge firmly into the corresponding slot until it snaps into place. That means that you are using the wrong cartridges, go back to seller and get the right ones.

Just check whether the cartridge you got is for that particular model and also whether the cartridge is genuine one .

If your problem continues then the print cartridge contacts are dirty and the printer cannot detect a print cartridge.

Clean the contact points on the cartridges with a dry, lint-free cloth.

1. Open the top cover of the printer.

2. Remove the print cartridges.

3. Clean the copper-colored contact points on the cartridges with a damp, lint-free cloth.
Use a dry, lint-free cloth to remove moisture from the contacts.

5. Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

6. Close the top cover.

7. Try printing again.

What is the replacement printer for HP Laser Jet


This document provides information about replacing the print cartridge for the HP LaserJet 1010 printer series, including life expectancy and replacement instructions. Print cartridge life expectancy The life of the print cartridge depends on the amount of toner that your print jobs require. When printing text on letter/A4-size paper at five percent coverage, the print cartridge lasts an average of 2,000 pages. This assumes that you set the print density to three and disable EconoMode. (These are the default settings.) See Ordering supplies for information on ordering replacement print cartridges. Changing the print cartridge Follow the below instructions to change the print cartridge:
  1. Open the print cartridge door, and remove the old print cartridge. See the recycling information inside the print cartridge box. Figure 1: Removing old print cartridge c00028312.gif CAUTION: To prevent damage, do not expose the print cartridge to light. Cover it with a piece of paper.

Carriage swings from one side to other


Remove the cartridges from the printer. Close the cover. Unplug the printer from the power source. Wait for about 10-15 seconds before plugging it back in. Once the printer's ready, re-insert the cartridges. Close the cover. It should try to print an alignment page. Let it print the page all the way through without cancelling it. If carrier is not slamming to the sides anymore, problem's resolved. But, when after re-inserting the cartridges and the printer tries to print the alignment and still slamming the carrier to the sides, that sounds more like a mechanical problem and needs to be replaced. If your printer is still within warranty, you can call Lexmark. They might send you a replacement. Good luck!

My printer wont print in color and the cartridge is new


take out the cartridges and clean the contact points on the back of the cartridges.
then without the cartridges we need to perform a rest on the printer.
unplug the power cable and then press and hold down the cancel and color copy button (green one) at the same time, and on the other hand plug the power cable back into the printer, then release both the buttons.
then insert the cartridges into the printer, it will align the cartridges again and then try to print or copy and check.
if still not working then try with different set of cartridges and if still not working the contact point on the printer are bad ..need to replace the unit

Hp photosmart 335 - cartridge failure


Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

Canon ip4000r doesn't print 3ebk (black)


First of all... have you tampered with the printer's firmware? If not, it's unlikely it became corrupted. But if replacing the ink cartridges with fresh ones, and using a new print head did not fix your problem, you may be out of luck.

Is this a new problem, or has it always been like this?

Could it be that the print driver is always printing photo? In that case, it uses the narrow black ink cartridge instead of the fat 3eBK cart. You should print a nozzle check pattern and verify that you see the 3eBK cartridge pattern. If you do, the problem is likely SOFTWARE... your driver settings, not the printer itself.

Continually says align print cartridges


My guess is that the color cartridge is either defective or not inserted correctly. I have a 6110 and know that inserting a print cartridge is a little tricky. If it isn't completely inserted and the top latch fastened correctly, the cartridge either won't work or produce errors.

Try reseating the color cartridge so it's inserted in exactly the same way as the black cartridge and run a print job again.

Open the following web page and go to Step three to see the instructions for cleaning the electronic contacts on the cartridge and print carriage.

Ink Cartridge Alignment Fails

Those seem the most likely causes and solutions to me. Good luck.

Prints without any errors but no ink on the paper.


if you have new print head assembly and cartridges, and waited for flow, and the printer is MECHANICALLY sound (not dropped or G-force damaged), then all that is left is improper cartridge installation. You may not have the cartridges fully inserted/, or maybe they are not PROPERLY inserted. Look for a snap when in place (and no wiggle). I suspect this is your problem, because one symptom you mention, ink accumulation INSIDE the head/cartridge cradle, is VERY rare -unless the cartridge is inserted improperly. The cartridges/head assemblies have VERY good seals to prevent leakage. Unless the o-rings/seals are damaged, leakage outside the seal just does not happen at all, normally.

*New head/cartridge installs can take several hours -sometimes even a day in cold weather, for small iP90-like printers to saturate the heads -and print.
