First check to make is to be sure machine is level using a 2ft level ck level side to side and front to rear see if level if not adjust either by adjusting level legs on bottom of machine or using wooden door shims available @ building supply store , if you don't have level use two small clear water glasses with a exact amount of water in each put a line on each glass measure with rule and make sure line is in exactly same spot on each glass fill to line and place one on rear of machine and one on front level till lines match then repeat process side to side

Whirlpool washing machine make loud noise after spin cycle quits. Noise continues until cycle winds down. Sounds like a machine gun being fired

Hello, have to tell you that most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping noise during the spin, the load of cloth may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the cloths, then restart the machine. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Thanks

Hi I have a Whirlpool 6th Sense Washing Machine - AWM8143. I is washing and spinning perfectly well and there are no error codes. However when it spins the machine makes a grating squeaking noise that is...

hi,
looks like there is some friction between the main and outer tub of your machine. there is generally a mechanism for smooth spinning of the machine in good rpms for wash-spin cycle. this could be because of rust formation, or mud collection. please refer your manual and remove the 3 screws behind the lower front plastic cover, and look for rust formation. scrape the rust and try spinning again.

cheers

Washer won't drain, makes loud noise

This problem, or some variation thereof evidently is very common with these Whirlpool Washers!  I have same problem.  So far, best I have found is at  http://applianceguru.com/forum2/5958.html#
diagnosis by someone who knows.  What William Burk says there makes sense.  However, to get to the drive block there's quite a bit of disassembly required.  I am stopped because I cannot get the spanner nut off.  Hope this gives you some help toward finding a more comprehensive answer
