Question about Westinghouse WST1600 Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

If you are going to junk your Westinghouse WT1600 I need a part!

Hi....I hope someone out there can help me. My vacuum works fine but my 13 year old daughter broke a part on it. It's the clear peice under the vacuum...in the manual they call it the " inspection plate." It has to tabs to remove it. My daughter broke one of the tabs off and now when using the vacuum the inspectin plate drags the floor. If anyone out there is going to toss out their vacuum, I'd buy the part and/or pay to have it sent to me. Please contact me if you can help. I'd really appreciate it.

I have the whole vaccume cleaner and charger in very good condition. You can have it all just pick it up or pay for the shipping . it is FREE . The catch is you have to take the whole machine and charger. This could be a good thing as you may need parts in the future.

Hi there! This is John from Jerry's Vacuum Sales in Modesto Ca. Are you using any type of carpet fresh product on your carpet? If so the fine powder is leaking onto the filters and causing them to clog. Discontinue use and over time the problem will correct itself.
I hope this was helpful.

This sounds like the valve assembly (full bag control) is faulty or one ov the tubes is clogged. You will have to take it to the shop.

sounds like you have the plastic bodied canister. the controll valve inside is bad. I usually just disconnect those to avoid future problems. you may want to take the vacuum to a repair shop though becuase they are a pain to get apart and get back in one piece.

Beater bar on Dyson upright won't turn when handle is lowered

I have finally fixed my sister's dyson dc 15 beater bar problem. It was just 2 tiny broken wires connect to circuit board lead to the beater bar. The wires broke where they go through the black rubber gommet. You need a torx screwdriver tx 15 to remove 2 plastic covers to access the wires. When looking at the front of the vacuum, the gray covers located on the right side of the vacuum. 1 big cover with a black rubber gasket and other small gray cover is on the rotating ball area.
This my new year resolution is to warn people not to buy Dyson vacuum cleaner ( Junk) design to break down! Shame on you Dyson!!!! Save your money find good old vacuum cleaner with metal parts.

OLD IS IN NEW IS JUNK!

Happy New Year!

Loud noise

When the motor bearings start to go bad, they will make a loud noise. Some motors if a piece broke off of the fan, then it also will make a loud noise. You may have to replace the motor.
