Enable Monitor Speakers
Most Windows operating systems are not set up by default to run sound through a monitor's speakers. Instead, the sound device needs to be manually set to "Monitor Speakers" in the Sound section of the control panel.

Open the "Start" menu and select "Control Panel."
Double-click the "Sound" icon in the control panel to bring up the Sound dialog box.
You may need to select "Hardware and Sound" prior to this, depending on which control panel view you are using.

Click the "Playback" tab, then right-click in the Devices window and select "Show Disabled Devices."
Click on your monitor speakers and click the "Properties" button.
Click the "Device Usage" drop-down menu and select "Use This Device (Enable)." This will enable your monitor speakers.

Hi why is there no sound from my speakers

In Control panel, check you have the sound enabled by testing one of the windows sound schemes, even if you can't hear anything you will see it is enabled.

Check the volume icon on your desktop taskbar is not in mute mode

Finally, check the wire from the monitor speakers is plugged into the correct port in your sound card / chip. (Usually green)

Monitor audio hook-up

You should need a mini jack audio cable. One end plugs into the speaker port of your sound card in the back of the computer (usually marked green). The other end should plug into the audio input of the monitor.
