My computer have no sounds? what can i do?after reformating my cpu the multimedia audio controller not working, i go to the device manager but cannot install

Is the computer completely silent ? not even giving windows signature tune when it boots to the desktop ?
Connect a headphone to the green port at the back panel and check.

You need to install the audio driver for motherboard using the cd that u must have got alongwith it. In case you dont have one, download it from the motherbd manufacturer's website.

If possible, reinstall the OS properly (disconnecting every cable from pc except power, keybd, mouse & monitor) alongwith motherboard audio driver.

I think you need to install 'RealTek Driver' for your operating system. Download that from internet for your operating system.

Installing sound drivers

First, visit this website:

http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/gc/gc_drive.htm

Next up select Windows XP Professional as your operating system. Now click, "Drivers." The first result should be the Realtek drivers, which are what you're searching for. Download them. Once they finished downloading open the file and the drivers should be installed automatically.

If there's anything else I can help you with, let me know. If this solution solved your problem, please rate the solution.

hi,
1. Download the driver and the windows xp hotfix from consumersupport.lenovo.com.
2. Save them on the desktop.
3.win RAR should be installed in the system then extract the driver by right clicking on the folder downloaded.
4.install the hotfix first and then run the setup of the extracted driver.
5.If then also the issue is not resolved then go to devicemanger>audio device on hd audio bus and right click on that>update driver>give the path of the extracted folder.

If facing the issue come on chat.
