Hi, if your problem is an automatic password on having ignited the equipment, I can help you but you must give me a e-mail to send the version of the updated BIOS and the procedure to remove the password, must indicate the Part No. Or the Model No. Of your machine.

Bios password for toshiba A!35 2326 I am locked out of my laptop.

I don't think that it's possible to unlock it without resetting the bios.

This requires you to open your laptop, thus voiding the warranty. Better send it to Toshiba and ask them to reset the bios.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-s2296 laptop and it is asking for the Bios password. How can I find this?

Try some simple ones by default, and lookup cmospwd tool, I plan on using that via DOS and Win98 OS

Need to reset my bios password on toshiba satellite a135-s2286

Hi,

you need to upen up your toshiba, and disconnect the internal battery, not the big one. Or, maybe a simpler method - call toshiba to check if there is a master password from them... :-)

Power button lights up, can hear fan running - but screen is black. Last time it was locked with BIOS password screen

Ok now if i understand correctly, you have a complete blank screen when the computer is booting up. And it's the same if you connect to a monitor. Well your video output looks alright then, but no signal is sent to it.

This is a video controler problem and I really hope your laptop is still in warranty because replacing the main board (which includes the video chip along with many other stuff) is very costly.

IF, you can see the POST boot up messages, the previous information is irrelevant. But if as you describe it the screen is black at all times, the main board needs to be replaced.

Anyhow I strongly suggest you contact your dealer or Toshiba to know how much it's gonna cost to replace the main board or even bring it to a local store where they can evaluate the problem and repair it.

Toshiba A135-S2376 is suddenly asking for password after power on ..... whats the solution

Well good news and bad news.
This is a problem that toshiba has knowledge of.
You cannot do anything to reset the password.
But you can contact toshiba and they will give you an address of a authorized dealer and they should repair it at no cost.
What it is the bios needs to be updated to version 1.40
It fixes that bug.
Happy Holidays

Issue

The computer models listed above may display a "Password =" prompt when the computer is turned on, even though no power-on password has been set. If this happens, there is no password that will satisfy the password request. If the computer is turned off and back on again, it is very likely that the same password prompt will appear. The computer will be unusable until this problem is fixed.

If the problem has not happened yet, you can prevent it from happening in the future by upgrading the BIOS to the newest version.

The occurrence of this problem on any particular computer is unpredictable -- it may never happen, but it could happen any time that the computer is turned on. If this problem does occur, it will be necessary to send the computer to a Toshiba Authorized Service Provider, who will fix the problem at no charge to you.

Resolution

If this problem has not yet occurred on your computer, then click the following link to download and install BIOS version 1.40. This BIOS displays a power-on password prompt only when a power-on password has actually been set via the BIOS Setup program.

You may also browse for a newer version of the computer's BIOS at pcsupport.toshiba.com.

For more help, see Support Bulletin 98081213 Obtaining downloads and support docs from the Toshiba Support website.

If the problem has already occurred on your computer, then please make arrangements with a Toshiba Authorized Service Provider to have this problem fixed at no charge. To locate a Toshiba Authorized Service Provider (ASP), please visit Toshiba's Global ASP Locator at http://pcrepair.toshiba.com

BTW, I've heard that this only happens when you boot up on battery power.

Maybe you can confirm this...
