You need to install picture package software cd supplied with camcorder, in PC and use iLink / DV port (IEEE1394) hook up to transfer video files in PC.
User manual has details about transfer files in PC procedure.

When i plug my camera into a computer, its not found. How can i edit my videos if the camera wont register with my computer?

Only use the firewire connection. If you do not have this on your PC

(Install drivers before connecting camera), remove the memory card and use a memory card reader.

Camcorder on Computer

The USB cable is to download still images only. To download video, you need (1) a firewire cable, (2) a firewire port on the computer, and (3) a video editing software program used to download and edit the video.

Here are the steps to transfer your digital files from the Optimus DV-3040 Camcorder to your computer:

  1. Connect the small end of the USB cable to the USB connector on the digital video camera.
  2. Connect the larger end of the USB cable to an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Turn on the camera and the computer. The [USB MODE] screen appears on the camera’s LCD monitor.
  4. Select [MASS STORAGE] with the zoom lever, and press the O button.
  5. From the Windows desktop, double click on "My Computer".

Can not find USB in the menu setting

Try you "firewire" cable. If you do not have a IEEE 1394 port on you computer add one on the PCI bus, or you will have to get some unit to convert the analog output(A/V cable-port) of the camera to digital via the USB. [Turtle Beach-Dazzle- etc] Unless your camera's OEM editing/ingest program is made to connect through USB, the camera will ship only stills via USB. The audio and video transport via "firewire"/ IEEE 1394 ports. Edit with what ever you want, but I suggest "Scenalyzer" to ingest to you computer from your camera. http://scenalyzer.com
