same problem as....how do I reset the 8440?

  • kdtool May 11, 2010

What needs to be reset, the copy counter? I have the manual and have had my MFC for 4 years and have gotten pretty good at fixing it. The top hinge broke, and since my husband has a machine shop, he made the hinge and it works great again!

If you can be more specific about what you want to reset, I can walk you through it.

    Thanks!

Brother mfc 8440 "printing" problems

Hi
I recently had this problem - tested fuser and all sensors.
The fix is to reset the memory.
To do this, enter the Maintenance mode. Menu, * 2864
(enter the number quickly)
then type 01 ( zero one ), this will reset all memory including the user settings.
Finally type 99 to exit Maintenance mode.
The printer will restart and the error will be gone. Test out with copy and printer reports
Hoping this fixes your problem
Regards
Lindsay
