Question about ViewSonic VX2025wm 20.1" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

ViewSonic vx2025wm Hi there, my monitor has a huge black vertical line on the side made up of fainter horizontal lines of approx. 2 inches width. There are also fainter horizontal lines all over the monitor. Whenenver I move the cable that connects it to the cpu, it changes the patterns of the lines, but the main darker line is still on the left side. It would seem that the cable has something to do with it. The monitor is relatively new (6mths) and it has been like this since day one. It is very hard to work with it. If you have any help, I would greatly appreciate it. I have not tried replaaaaacing the cable yet. I have also read that it may be radio frequency interference. What can I do? Thanks, Maria

Remove the back and check the ribbon cables on the left side that is in-line with the the black bar and remove it and on the other side of the cable there could be a couple of components that need ton be re soldered, or just clean the connections.

My viewsonic Va1912wb flashes horizontal lines when you turn it on and i know it is not in pal and it is not the refresh trate help me please

Hi There and Welcome to Fixya.

Horizontal or vertical lines flashing/running across the screen poses serious display issues with any LCD/CRT monitors. It only boils down to 2 possible causes :
  • Corrupted video driver
  • Hardware issue
To help you determine which of the above, here's what you need to do.
  • Ensure that the computer is turned OFF
  • Disconnect ALL USB devices except the keyboard
  • Turn the computer on and immediately hit "DEL" (in some systems, it's the "F2") key repeatedly until you reach a different screen. (not the usual Windows screen)
  • Welcome to the BIOS screen
  • From here, spend 30min to 1 hour observing if the lines are present in this mode
If you still see the horizontal lines, then there's a need for the monitor to be serviced by a certified/trained technician. The link below will direct you to their support page for repair/replacement options, depending on your warranty status :

Otherwise, the problem can be resolved by re-installing the operating system.

I hope this helps, Thanks for using Fixya.

Suddenly my viewsonic vx2025wm went blank with streaks of vertical colors. All inputs. HELP!

sounds like it burned out. there is no easy way to repair this. best solution is to get a new one or if you still have under warranty, check it out. it's too costly to repair it. it's cheaper to buy one.

Monitor is vertical display instead of horizontal display

Hi...there! Kazz,
Go to your toolbars bottom R/H corner and look for the VGA settings icon ( nVidia or ATI). Right click on that...and look for rotation settings, from there just followed the settings... Have nice day!

Horizontal lines are appearing and moving acrosss the screen of my View Sonic E50C Monitor...

What is wrong with your monitor is that the Horizontal section is going faulty, the lines you are seeing are the Horizontal Retrace lines, usually invisable in a working unit. It is often a faulty capacitor(s) OR a Diode breaking down.. in the area of the Flyback Transformer. Probably time for a new one unless ya can fix it yaself.
