Question about NEC 1560M-BK 15" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

Open Question

My NEC MultiSync LCD1560M monitor has lost its brightness

I have tried to get into the menu and increase the brightness to 100%, but it is already at full brightness. I can very faintly see the menu option on the monitor when I press the button. Please help me get the brightness back to my monitor. It seems as if the light has just died within it. I have also tried changing the cables, and checked all the connections.

SOURCE: screen and colors too bright

CRT and LCD will look different when compared side by side. Is your CRT calibrated, or are they right in the sense that they are what you are used to? Also Anyway, you can adjust the colors and light levels from the menu on your screen, and depending on your operating system and graphics adapter you should be able to make adjustments there, too. For windows XP, right click your desktop and select properties->Settings->Advanced. There might be a color management tab. Also, there might be software to help you do this already installed. Look for a program group with the name of your Graphics adapter manufacturer. Very often ATI or nVidia. SOURCE: how to increase brightness of my monitor i put it

Hi, you can try this; in a clear area of the Desktop screen (right)) click, once the desktop window open, click on Personalize, next click on Display Settings. You can adjust the brightness by by doing the following: On the resolution scale adjust from Low>High; you can do this until you are satisfied with the view. In the (Colors) drop box, click the down (Arrow), and choose the "Highest" color (16bits>32bits) etc. Next click to open the (Advance)) settings, click on the (List All Modes) button, once the window open choose the (Highest) settings: example (1366 by 768, True Color (32bit), 60 Hertz. Remember to click the "Apply", and "OK" buttons after each selection or change. "Hope this helps' Ya"

Restart your computer.
As soon as it starts the start-up process, keep tapping the F8 key, repeatedly.
When you see the Windows "start-up" menu, select "start in safe mode".
Does your monitor work in this low-resolution (640-by-480 or 800-by-600) mode?
If so, then you had configured Windows to a too-high resolution that the NEC did not support.
Choose 1024-by-768, and click "Apply", to test that the NEC supports this mode.

Try connecting the NEC to some other computer, to see if the NEC itself is the problem.

there is a setting you can access from the monitor menu button. make sure that the monitor is set for the cable you have running to it.

If you are using DVI use the digital setting.

Anything else, use the analogue.
