I have got internet connection from my slide (EDGE). Nokia PC suite seems to offer such a connection via Bluetooth through my phone by calling it One Touch Access. Bluetooth connection is perfect, my phone alone connects to the internet but not my laptop through my phone. What needs to be done?
You have a 3Com 3C940 network interface if it is a p4p800,if it is p4p800 E Deluxe you have a Marvel 88E8001 network interface.Unfortunately, 3com doesn't have a driver for that model for vista and asus doesn't offer support for that motherboard anymore. In still may be possible to work with the xp driver that came with your cd or at their downloat page for that model http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=DYt1Et9MlBChqzLb and installed manually (control panel>system>device manager) select there the network adapter (probably seen as unknown device) and right click on it > properties and update driver > browse and select the folder where the driver is(must be unzipped) you'll need to select the OEMSETUP.INF or EL2000x.inf and next. A lot of win xp drivers worked for me in that way for win 7 and also any driver that doesn't have an installer. However if you have an E Deluxe marvell has win vista and 7 drivers at http://www.marvell.com/support.html Hope that helps !
Asus doesn't list any windows 7 Drivers for this board and Broadcom says of the windows 7 Driver for this series: This driver does not support BCM5700, BCM5701 and BCM5702 devices. To
use these devices under Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008
R2, or Windows 7, please use the XP or Win2K3 driver above.
So here is the link to grab the Windows XP/2K3 drivers: Good luck! http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/netxtreme_desktop.php
Now there is a new driver for sound which can be downloaded from the ASUSwebsite. Another thing is that is an old ver motherboard and might not be compatible with win 7. Try installing XP_Pro and see if it works then................sodeep.
