  1. Open the top cover of the printer and remove the cartridges.
  2. Verify that the correct cartridges are installed in the printer. Click here to see if you have the correct cartridges . If the correct cartridges are installed, make sure that the tape has been removed from the cartridge nozzles.

  4. Close the printer door.

Soak the print head of the cartriage in hot water for 5 minutes, then put a rag or paper towel over the end and shake it so the ink moves to the bottom of the cartiridge, this wil in most case fix the problem.

Hi there
Take the colour cartridge back out and check to make sure you have removed the plastic contact protective cover, if you have you may have to use HP software to keep printing a test page until the colour comes through

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya

Compatible cartridges are actually refilled HP cartridges. They are not as reliable as new cartridges. Before assuming that the cartridge has become defective, clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and carriage with alcohol and a cotton swab. If you still get the error return the cartridge to Office Max.

Both cartridges must be recognized as good by the printer or it will not print.

first question I have ( I know it sounds dumb, but... )

did you remove the plastic strip covering the cartridge before you put it in the printer?

and the next question - when was the last time you actually printed from it?

the first troubleshooting step I would suggest is, pull the cartridge
out, use a q-tip and water, and clean the contacts on both the back of
the cartridge and the carraige holder
At this point, about the only idea that comes to mind is to try
replacing the cartridge. when ink cartridges sit around, the ink
solidifies inside, causing it to stop working long before it should.

the last suggestion I would make on the existing cartridge is to take a
paper towel and water, and wipe off the bottom of the cartridge, see if
that helps to moisten the ink to push it through, then put it back in
    and try printing again.

    Ok,

things to try, please try them all and if one doesn't work go to the next.

    1. Press and hold the power button for 30seconds, reset the printer
    2. reinsert the cartridges
    3. Double check your printing settings that color is being used

    Important
    4. Print a self test page from the printer not from computer.

    1. From the front panel, press
      Menu
      repeatedly until
      Self-Test Report
      displays.

    2. Press
      Select/Resume or Enter
      .

If color is missing from the page you probably have a cartridge that is empty, has clogged nozzles, or dirty contacts.

The cartridge shouldn't be empty, so either clogged nozzles or dirty contacts, you can clean the cartridge contacts on the cartridge and in the cartridge carrier.

    5. Run the cleaning utility that came with the hp software
    6. Calibrate the cartridges, utility comes with hp software
    7. Clean the nozzle

    8. if your problem is not solved you may want to contact HP to service the printer.

It must be your ruined catridge. Some times the wire connections are burned at the side of the catridge and you must thaw away it and buy a new color catridge.

Hp psc 750 won't print with new color ink cartridge

To solve the printing problem..

# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel.
# Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right).
# Continue doing this until it looks clean.
# Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing.
# Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.

1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier.
2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.

# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

Installed black ink but hp psc 750 keeps saying install colour and i only have black ink. Can you operate this printer without colour in.

Print cartridge
When the print cartridge contacts are dirty and the printer cannot detect/communicate with print cartridge.
Clean the contact points on the cartridges with a dry, lint-free cloth.
1. Open the top cover of the printer.
2. Remove the print cartridges.
3. Clean the copper-colored contact points on the cartridges with a damp, lint-free cloth. Use a dry, lint-free cloth to remove moisture from the contacts.
5. Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
6. Close the top cover.
7. Try printing again.
If you still cant communicate try with new cartridge .

How can i print in just black with no color cartrage

in your printer you can use single cartridge but there should be both cartridge inserted in the printer.it will not print if only one cartridge inserted.so let the colour cartridge empty but it should be there in the printer.other wise it will not print.at present the problem in your printer is colour cartridge circuit is got faulty so the printer is not detecting the co,lour cartridge in it.so it ask for replacement.in this case you will have to compulsary get the replacement cartridge.you can buy new cartridge or recycles cartridge that will be quite cheaper then new cartridge.

Printer stopped working E appears in ''copies box''

There is a great possibility that that the cartridge is bad.
You could take it back to Ink Stop to check and for an exchange.
Most of the time the cartridge may be overfilled.
Check the cartridge printhead, if it is wet, blot it dry with a paper towel.
If is a color cartridge, check for all 3 colors are present
by pressing the printhead on a piece of paper
if 1 color is missing, the printer will sense the cartridge as bad.
Do the following steps in installing the cartridges
Remove both catridges
Unplug printer, wait 3 minutes, plug back printer.
Turn printer back on
Wait until printer stop
Check the contacts of the cartridge to be clean
Install both cartridges.

HP PSC 2410xi color printing issues

Try using warn distilled water and Q-tips to gently clean the area where the ink cartridge and the carriage mate up. You may have dried old ink in there which is clogging the print nozzles. Allow to air dry, reinstall cartidges, start machine and let it go through its cleaning cycle. Also check www.hp.com. Hope this helps.

We have long had an HP PSC 750. We don't print in color and a tech person at HP told us just to buy black cartridges and take out the old color cartridge & put it back in and set the printing prefs for...

You must replace the color ink cartidge because the inking system uses both cartridges even on just black prints.

Sad, but true. This is how HP makes their money. Selling ink, not printers.

Hp psc 1410 all-in-one printer not printing

What is not working? The printer or the cartridge? If it's the cartridge, try this. fold a paper towel in 4ths, dampen it and place on a flat surface. Blot the cartridge several times on the towel. You should get blots of black with the black cart. and three colors with the color or photo cart. If not... replace. If the printer carriage just won't move and you're shure you have power.. time for a new printer.
