Fully charged Lithium batteries dies out too quick and the USB cable does not work? Please help. tha...

I fully charged both batteries, but it when I use it, it last only for 5 pictures, then dies. Is this the battery charger or is it the batteries? Also, my USB cable to connect to the computer does not work. It use to work, and I was able to upload my pics, but today, it stopped working. Is the wires inside the cable broken? or is it the constant unplugging caused the wire to be loose? Do I have to buy new USB wire and new batteries and battery charger?
