Get a toggle switch and have a ground wire and take that ground wire and put it on the on side of the switch and take the parking break wire that's coming from the dvd player and out it in the off side and
You can try to refit it, take it out and put it back in, it may be loose.
I had to replace my drive when this happened to me, check ebay for a cheap replacement
if the dvd drive does not open it will need to be reseated there should be about 1 screw in the bottom of the notebook that you will have to take out and then get in behind the faceplate on the dvd and wiggle it out of notebook and then put it back in and make sure it is seated good and put the screw back in.
they get jarred loose alot of times and the dvd quits working and or ejecting.
I'm not sure of this system but if this was mine I would say it sounds like your playing this in a 2-Channel mode which eliminate the center channel.
you music may be set up fine, but the mode you play a dvd in may be set up for 2-channel mode. try a dolby prologic 5-channel or some other mode if you have one.
Likely what happened is, in your efforts to get the piece out of there, you loosened a solder point on the headphone jack, and it will need to be resoldered. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, you can send it to a technician who can.
Need more info. Does it happen while using other sources? (DVD, games, VCR..) if so, pause the source and see if the sound is still audible. if it's only on the TV source then MUCH more info will be needed.
find the info/display key on the remote and press it,go down to the box that show head speckers it should show 2 ENG and CH2.
if not change it by pressing the down key then press ok key
