Clipping can result from improper wiring or solder jumps to figure this out youll need a continuity tester simply check you inputs and outputs and make sure wiring is correct then if so your amp has a solder jump inside them amp. New amp or send it in for repair you can buy a new amp nearly every brand at dealer cost from this site.

Why channel A clipping on soundcraftsmen ma5002a what's wrong

When you have a DC voltage on the output, check your capacitors in the amp. Looks like the big electrolytic is defect.
I don't have a manual of this amp, so I can't verify if I'm right and what cap you should look for.

Wats the best way to hook up 3 hifonic hfx12d 12s. Dvc 4ohmd to a 2 channel 2600 watt planet audio. Amp is 2 ohm stable.

Wire each sub 8 ohms(sieries) than connect them in parallel, bridged @ amp, final impedence will be 2.6 ohms.

The FX portion of the board is clipping with no input signal present, there is no sound output at all. Also, none of the mute/pfl LEDs light up on channels 1-12.

There are several clipping indicators on this board. Do you mean that the small vertical display to the left of the FX selection window is maxed out from top to bottom? I will assume that you have ALL the FX inout knobs CCW for all channels AND the FX slider all the way down. Also does the FX selection knob work to change the effect number? Does the rest of the board work? WILL the effects pass sound when you send it through the effects? You say no sound, but was that just to say with no sound sent to it it still is clipping, or that it will not pass sound?

Power Acoustik LT 980-2 clipping while bridged pushing 1ohm load

Hello, your problem is that your amp is rated at 4 ohms bridged mono ans 2 ohms stereo. If your running it in stereo you need to raise the ohms to 2 ohms a channel and if your running it bridged into 1 channel you need to be running it at 4 ohms. Please rate this solution please so I can prgress on FixYa.com. Thanks!

No output on channel B OF PEAVY2000AND1200

You missed something. Use the good channel (A) to compare resistance and or voltage readings against the defective channel. Obviously you've removed the dead short issues (AC fuse is holding) BUT your signal path is still askew. Any transistors/diodes under suspect should be removed from the circuit for proper testing....Glen

Gem Sound clipping problem

First of all the EXA-3940 is rated at 350watts per channel in to 8 ohms. The 1400 watts is bridged into a 4 ohm load. Second, the speakers can handle 1000Wats peak with an average of 600 continuous (i'm guessing). That tells me that the amp is underpowered for the speakers. The sensitivity of the amp is such that the mixer is overdriving the input stage. That is what is causing the clipping. If you are looking for more volume, you are probably better off purchasing another amp and running them in bridge mode, 1 per speaker cab. Be careful though, not to overdrive the speaker cabinets either.
