Cd player wont open or play (by 3 users)

When trying to use the cd player, it will not open and when trying to put the stereo in cd mode it won't go and cd player will not play. It doesn't work manually or with the remote. Everything was working fine then it just suddenly started doing this. When you press the mode button, it just says Toc Read on the screen. Radio plays fine. We tried the reset but that didn't do anything. Please help if anyone has any suggestions. Thank you.

I spoke with a tech and all I had to do was unplug the unit wait a minute then plug it back in. Now it works fine. We did use a lens cleaner once we got it open, but it works fine now. Simple solution that I didnt think about. I guess unplugging it resets it.

I meant unplug it for a 1/2 hour or so not just a minute.

I'm having the exact same problem, uggh this is frustrating. I emailed emerson, i'll let you know if i hear of solution.

I am having the same problem, but my case will open (it just wont play). My CD player does not work at all for any CD! I have tried cleaning CDs and all of that stuff, but it just says TOC READ anytime that I tell it to play a CD. My radio works fine as well, but not CDs :( and I just got it (but I do not have the box anymore)! Help, please!
