Has the system been dropped? It sounds like the connection to the screen has been broken.

My sons PSP isnt working right. He says he didnt drop it but who knows. It will turn on,make sounds, and I can hear it scrolling when I scroll but the screen is blank. The screen does light up a little but...

There may have been shock inflicted on the PSP causing it to break the LCD which is fairly easy to do as they are fragile. If you are courageous you can buy a new LCD screen for it of the internet then open the PSP and swap the LCD screens.

My son dropped his psp

No worries,

due to loose contacts of the Screen with Mother of board of PSP this issue occurs. Just Hold the screen put the thumbs on Display and try to adjust by slightly moving on all corners it can be fixed.

if it possible open the cellphone and check out the contacts between screen or display to mother board then repack it. your issue should resolve.

Best Regards,
Raju.

My son dropped a toy on the screen of his PSP slim. Now when you turn it on, you get some black and grey lines, but no picture. You can't even tell something was dropped on it. The glass itself is fine...

Unfortunately, your son may have damaged the back light in the PSP. The only way to repair this is to take it to a local repair shop and have them remove the old PSP screen and put in a new one. It is possible that the connection to the motherboard and the screen has become looser, but I want to prepare you for the worse.

Psp turns on, but no screen just black, also I dont hear anything

You might have a brick psp, you need to reflashing your psp.. If you have Custom firmware installed e.g. M33, you can try this first;

try to boot your psp to recovery menu, ( hold R-trigger when turn on your psp), you should see M33 recovery menu, then select "advance" then "Format flash1 and reset setting", if it does not work you need pandora battery for unbricking your psp. or you may consider to sending it back to Sony for repair. You can call SONY support at 1-800-345-7669.

Hopefully this help.! Pls post back should you need additional information, and also Show your Appreciation, to help other USER.

Psp My son sat on it,an when he turned it on behind the screen colour comes up an you can see moving of the game, but it broke as you can`t see anything other then colour. Can you help? what would you say...

Hi. Kieran.

I don't want to be the person to give bad news, but after reasearching your question for you it sounds like you son broke the psp. The color screen behind the lsd screen is damaged and usually cannot be repaired by an unqualified person. If you were to bring the system to be repaired between labor and costs, it may be cheaper to buy a new PSP.

Hopefully, depending on how long you have had the PSP you may be under a warranty.

What I suggest is to call Sony. See if you are under warranty, and have it replaced for no cost to you. Otherwise you will have to purchase a new PSP.

The number for Sony is found on the back of almost all of the psp video game manuals.

I hope I was able to fixya problem, and I wish you and your son Happy Gaming!

Please fix my psp please

its either your psp is bricked(rendered useless..as entertaining as a brick becuase it wont do anything at all.) or screen came unplugged. try turning it on then turning the sound all the way up and see if you can hear the normal sounds. if you can either the screen is unplugged or ruined. if you cant and it turns off by itself then you have a brick.

Nothing on screen/turning off

the backlight is probably out or the LCD is disconnected, the on/off switch is loose or the hold switch is on

Psp ( i cant get games to play )

Have you inserted the game disc UMD into the PSP itself? You have to wait a few seconds after you turn it on before the game icon will be visible in the main menu screen before you can access the game. When it's active and you have the game icon selected press the "X" button to start the game.
