Question about Sony KDS-60A3000 60" HDTV

KDS-60A3000 new bulb gets 6 flashes of red led

According to the manual page 45, if the bulb is not seated properly the TV can go into diagnostic mode with the power LED flashing red 6 times.
I have verified the bulb cage is properly seated but am still getting the power LED with 6 red flashes. I think the red flash numbers for this model is different than other models. Any Ideas what could cause this? And was the bad bulb a result of this as it did not have a lot of use out of the bulb?

Please put back lamp (bulb) cover properly and check as lamp cover is open/ not fixed or improper fix is also cause of LED flashing.

My Sony KDS-60A3000 randomly turns off, then the red "Power LED" blinks three times repeatedly (not "Lamp LED"). We turn it back on, the process repeats again between 20-60 minutes.

3 blinks of Standby/power LED of Sony sets denotes a SMPS board [G-board] failure. . Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Sony KDS-60A3000 turns off by itself and red light flashes 3 times

the flashing light is more than likely the fault code. but those can be wrong bet even money that the door has a sensor to know if its open and the the bi-metallic switch is on the fritz look around the door see of the is a small pressure actuated switch the opens and closes with the door if so all else checks out 85 % chance that will be you problem

Hi! GREAT site! We have a Sony SXRD KDS-R60XBR1 Projection TV and it stopped working last night... We are getting FIVE red blinks! What does that mean? Fans, bulbs.... ??? Thank you in advance for any...

5 blinks if for the ballast that powers the light. You can try changing the bulb first, if that doesn't fix it then I believ it will be your ballast. If you haven't changed the bulb before It could probably use one anyway, and you could keep the old for a spare.
Here are some more from sony on this.
According to Sony:

Red LED Flashing four(4) times
o Fan not plugged in
o Foreign object hitting blades
o CN2301 on ASU board not seated or connected
o ASU shield touching S1 board

Red LED Flashing five(5) times
o Interconnect harness from Lamp driver 5-pin to ASU 9-pin board not connected
o Lamp driver failure
o Bent pin on Lamp driver 5-pin connector
o DSU to C board harness not locked
o CN6501 on G board not seated or connected
o Lamp failure

Picture flickers on Sony HDTV

Hi,It seems your ballast(board that powers light bulb) is going weak. The ballast was used to provide a lower voltage because lamp didn't use as much as brand new one. A newer one takes more voltage and when ballast doesn't provide as much power it will flicker or produce a dimmer image.I found the one for your tv here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/1091041-KDS-60A3000-p/1091041.htm?Click=48173 Good luck and God bless you!

Sony KDS-60A3000 will not turn on

I am not at work right now and don't have access to my service manuals but i believe a 6 blink on an a3000 is missing 13 volts. If it is in warranty please call an authorized sony repair shop. If not The most likely problem is the power supply board. But there are tests that a technician needs to preform with a dvm to verify which board is causing the problem. The missing 13 volts could also be because another board may be loading down the 13 volt line.

It would be hard for me to estimate a repair cost for this problem, depending on the board it could run anywhere from $300.00 to $600.00

Did Sony tell you to have the tv serviced?

Sony Bravia KDS-60A3000 won't power up 9 flashing red power light

According to other posts I have read (I have same problem) there is no power getting to the fans. They recommend re-seating the fan harness again as it might have come loose or might have dust etc., in it.

I have no idea how to do this yet but that is what the trouble-shooting guide says.

60A3000 replaced bulb and get red light 6 flashes

Hello,

The 6X blink is not the seating of the lamp. The blinking pattern is saying that the door to the lamp chamber is not on properly. Because the fan draws air across the lamp to cool it, the door has to be in place and properly latched for it to do so. I would take the door off, then carefully put it back on so that it does not bind up (which is common on this model). Make sure that the sliding latch goes all the way to the right, and that the screw that holds the latch is tightened hand-tight.

If you are still having problems, then it might be due to a damaged or defective lamp-door switch, which will require an authorized service tech to look at it (only because there are several very delicate parts to this TV that a tech has to be aware of).

I hope this helps you...

HDTV Problem

According to the manual for this set, the LED's are indicating that the lamp unit door is not seated properly. If you don't have the manual for this set you can find it on Toshiba's website at http://tacpservice.toshiba.com/ConsumerProductSupport/Manuals/TV/2004/46_52_62HM84.pdf

The page number for the LED indicators is 60. Page numbers 57-59 show how to replace the lamp unit and make sure the door is secure. Good luck.
