Question about Sony KDS-60A3000 60" HDTV

60A3000 replaced bulb and get red light 6 flashes

According to page 45 of the manual, if the bulb is not securely seated the tv can go into diagnostic mode and flash the power led to red 6 times.

I have verified several times that it is seated properly but am still getting the same 6 flashes.

Thanks, I will try it again. I did hand tighten the screw but was afraid of overtightening. I will let you know.

Thanks, That fixed it. After replacing the bulb in the cage, the wires were on the outside of the powerplug bracket. This caused the door to not go fully against the interlock switch.

Since i replaced the bulb, do I need to reset the hour counter. How do I do that?

The 6X blink is not the seating of the lamp. The blinking pattern is saying that the door to the lamp chamber is not on properly. Because the fan draws air across the lamp to cool it, the door has to be in place and properly latched for it to do so. I would take the door off, then carefully put it back on so that it does not bind up (which is common on this model). Make sure that the sliding latch goes all the way to the right, and that the screw that holds the latch is tightened hand-tight.

If you are still having problems, then it might be due to a damaged or defective lamp-door switch, which will require an authorized service tech to look at it (only because there are several very delicate parts to this TV that a tech has to be aware of).

I hope this helps you...

On that set, you should be able to go into the menu to reset the lamp hours. In the settings (the little suitcase icon), there should be a setting for lamp replacement.

Give me a shout if it is not there. I don't have my service literature nearby, and I'm going off of memory.

My Sony 50" SXRD is flashing 3 red lights by power/standby. I just changed the bulb. What is the problem? Can anyone help please.

According to one site I found, the problem is that the lamp cover was not securely attached. The manual also said the lamp may not be inserted properly. See pages 106 through 108. The manual is located here:

I have a Sony KDF-60XS955 tv. It won't power on,

I have that manual. There are three lights to the left of the power button. One is labled LAMP. The manual states "The projection lamp, which illuminates the picture, has a limited life. If the screen becomes dark, the color looks unusual, or the LAMP indicator on the front of the LCD projector TV flashes, it is time to replace the lamp with a new one (not supplied). Use a Sony XL-2200 replacement lamp (not supplied) for replacement. Use of any other lamp may damage the LCD projection TV." I also found in a different page " LAMP LED lights up in red when the lamp for the light source has burnt out." I guess burnt out would be extream. I found one other if you had opened the light bulb cover and didn't close it properly. " If the lamp cover is not reattached securely, the self-diagnostic function may be triggered and the POWER/STANDBY indicator flashes three times." You can down the sony manual at

I have a 55" sony

According to the manual (you can see it here) page 122 that describes 3 red flashing lights:

"The lamp cover is not attached securely. When you secure the lamp cover, the POWER / STANDBY light flashes in red and the LCD projection TV enters the standby mode (see page22)"

Page 22 says:

"... if the POWER / STANDBY light flashes continuously, this may indicate the display unit needs servicing..."

Most DLP displays make use of a "color wheel". These small motors spin at many thousands of RPM. They often begin to make scratching sounds when they are beginning to fail. Some manufacturers make it difficult to change yourself - and others make it pretty easy.

I hope this was at least a good starting point for you & good luck. Please rate my reply. Thank you.

Sony Bravia KDS-60A3000 won't power up 9 flashing red power light

According to other posts I have read (I have same problem) there is no power getting to the fans. They recommend re-seating the fan harness again as it might have come loose or might have dust etc., in it.

I have no idea how to do this yet but that is what the trouble-shooting guide says.
