The normal cause of not being able to pull paper from tray 2 is worn out paper pickup rollers. You can pull out the paper tray and look inside the opening the opening to see the rollers on the right hand side. Here is a picture of the rollers.
The end of the roller has a little clip to press to release the rollers from the shaft. If you remove them and check the surface you will probably find then to be smooth, they should have a surface like a fingerprint to grab the paper. The rollers come in a kit called RK-4250 that included the rollers for tray 1 and tray 2. The RK-4250 is available here: http://www.ccl-la.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=302 Replacing the rollers should bring the printer back to full use. Be sure that when you replace the rollers that you puch them back on the shaft until they click into place.
I hope this helps you get your printer going, BuddyMc
Most of the cases fuser assembly or supplies are causes of ghost image. If image is not properly transferring on media causes transfer roller or ETB. Do this small exercise: Give print command, wait till paper grabs, once paper entered in cartridge area, power it off, open top & front cover, remove paper and see the print quality.Observed any ghost image what you observed? No ghost image? then problem with fuser assembly..
1.Remove fuser assembly, check any toner particles deposited on surface of fuser transfer roller or heater roller.. if found clean carefully with good cotton cloth while fuser having certain temperature,pl avoid metal & sharp objects to clean.. 2. Clean paper path roller(You can observe the rollers to push the paper to reach the destination) I hope this exercise will resolves the issue..
The grinding sound is usually caused when the toner cartridge gear is slipping with the one in the imaging unit. To troubleshoot, remove the toner cartridge and turn the gear by hand and check for binding. It should turn freely, if it doesn't there nothing you can do but to replace it when it gets empty. Another cause of the gear slipping, is that sometimes the cartridge contacts force it out of the socket so it does not seat properly. To fix, try pressing on the cartridge contacts with the back end of a pen a few times to see if that will free up the contacts.
If your printer get paper jams when it starts to pull the paper from the cassette. This is caused by a dirty paper pickup roller. If it is not too worn out, you can fix this by using a damp cloth and clean the roller. Hope this helps you.
this will be an issue with the duplex rollers check where it is jamming is it in the duplex unit if yes then check the duplex rollers for wear worn rollers will cause scews also check there is no torn pieces of paper stuck in the guides of the duplex
a good thing to do is to get a thin piece of card stock slide it into the duplex manually and frred it where the paper path goes on the duplex from beginning to end and it will push out any thing in the path
Needs a fuser hot roll. Once the get worn, they pick up some of the image and reprint it on the page.
They are available form several sources, Kaytin comes to mind. Precision roller. Google the printer model number . I would google is like this. Sharp AR 5316 hot roll.
That should give you several sources, Honestly I would replace the press roll also. Probably you should be able to find them both for less than 100 dollars, I sure wouldnt pay more. Look around. You can find them for a decent price. You may even want to look on E-bay. they often have them there.
It's one of two of these solutions. The fixing rollers more so the upper fixing roller which is the hot rollers at the exit end of the copier is dirty or need replacing. Or the drum has a cleaning blade on it that needs replacing. If you look at the drum and see if toner is still on the drum if so then your cleaning blade needs replacing. Also if that copier uses a blanking lamp then it might not be turning on so you can get double images.
If you are getting a lot of jams in the fuser then there is a problem in the fuser unit !
Is it jamming like an accordion? if Yes, then the problem is w/ the little fingers in the fuser, they are worn and need to be replaced. The rollers in the fuser should be shiny and smooth if not they ca also cause jams.
What black thingy are we talking about and where? if it's the fuser rollers ( where the paper exits and gets hot then try cleaning w/reg soap & water rag then wipe off.
It is either in the path of the scanning like the platen glass or if it is a MFP check the little glass strip on top of the glass thats where auto doc feeder scan from, or the imaging drum/toner is bad, or the transfer belt is bad or worn and there could always be a roller causing the marks, or the fuser itself can be bad. there are just too many things that can cause that. is it streaks with no print or is it printed then scrated like streaks?
