The BIOS, which handles the initial start up of your computer, cannot find your hard drive and thus cannot boot your operating system (ie, Windows). Open up your computer and confirm the power cable is firmly connected to the hard drive and that the cable that connects the hard drive to the motherboard is firmly secure. If both of these check out, then try downloading this bootable CD on another computer. This CD, among other things, has a few hard drive utilities that will help further diagnose the problem. http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/ Finally, if the utilities on this CD are unable to see the hard drive itself, then is may need to be replaced. Try testing with another hard drive or another cable to connect it to the motherboard.

SOURCE: my mini dell inspiration laptop sends me an error

This error comes up if the computer is not able to detect the hard drive. Power off the computer. Power it back on and tap the number 2 key 4 - 5 times at the Dell logo screen. This will take you to the system setp screen. Check if you see any thing listed next to solid state drive. If you dont see any thing try reseating the hard drive. Here are the steps to reseat the hard drive.. If you see an entry next to the solid state drive. You'll need to reinstall windows on the computer. If you have been shipped XP you will need an external CD drive to reinstall windows. If the system was sen with ubantu try to download it to a usb drive and boot off it.

SOURCE: pxe-e63 and pxe-m0f errors

enter to boot up in safe mode, then disable the atheros network drivers in my computers properties > hardware or drivers, then leave the originals that it came with should be the first two, ok, remove all others that say atheros, This error is of a group of driver programs being installed in computers through networking, yes hackers, I've fixed about 10 computers this month, but this software seems to log in to a network that can monitor your activity. Made by Atheros, & probably hacked to do this, cause Im sure the company did not modify this to log in to other private networks, if networks or drivers are disabled it will not even but up so best thing is to go into safe mode & disable these atheros drivers that dont belong in the computers in the first place. I had to re-install the bios in pcs because it modifies bios, registry files, and once t does that, its hell for the not so tech savy normal person.

Laptop is on but black screen and number lock key keep flashing

The num lock key may be showing you an error code. are the flashes varying in length? or the time between flashes? if so look up bios error codes on Fijitsu web site. Sounds like a hardware error, at ths level it is possibly a CPU or memory issue. has the laptop suffered a fan failure? or recently got hot? you could try removing all unnecessary hardware such as cdrom drives and all but one memory sim, and see if that changes anything when powered up.

Im having an error when trying to turn on my lenovo. The error codes are PXE-E61 and PXE-M0F. Then it says missing operating system. It wont do anything after that. Can you please assist me with this....

pxe-e61 (media test failure, check cable) and pxe-m0f (exiting pxe rom), your laptop is not detecting your hard drive so it cannot boot. Try this, remove anything that it is attached to your laptop (external drive, external camera or the likes) and try rebooting. If that does not work you have to open your hard disk drive bay located at the back of your laptop and carefully remove it then place it back again make sure that the screws are complete and are not loose.
Reply if pulling out your hard drive did'nt work.

The PXE error is not from your harddrive. the computer has failed to reccognise the HDD and so moved to the next bootable option being network, the PXE error is telling you that it cannot boot from network
I would only replace the board on the hard disk with another (same model) if you realy need the data on there. it is possible that the drive is failing because the heads have locked and so replacing the board will not fix, but if you have access to an identical drive its worth a try.
if you dont realy need the data, replace with another compatible drive and reinstall.

Cannot power on only led light (num lock, scroll lock, cap lock) flashing Model: S6520

Welcome to fixya, This could be a number of issues.

It could be your ram chips need to be replaced, it could be your battery.

Try this to narrow it down.

Remove the power cord, and the battery.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds solid.

Then, do not put the battery back in, just the power cord.

Try to start the computer, if it starts, your battery is failing.

If it does not start, leave the battery out, remove the power cord.

Turn the laptop upside down and remove and reinsert the ram chips.

Then, plug the power cord back in and try and start it again.

If it starts, your ram chips may be failing and you should think about replacing them.

Wile I am trying to boot it up it goes in to a loop

Hello.

That error message usually refers to a hard disk failure. Your hard disk cable could be loose or faulty. Or, your hard drive would need to be replaced.

I'd suggest to check the cable and run your system's hardware diagnostics (often F2 or F12) when your system boots.

Hope this helps.
