HSI ignitor is glowing red but furnace isn't lighting every time

I have a furnace with a HSI ignitor. I noticed my vents blowing out cold air and finally saw tha the ignitor is working but the furnace isn't lighting every time. It is an intermittent problem but happening almost dialy. Could it be the pressure switch or propane valve?

What wood cause a burner to ignite and will not turn off.

Is there an orange glow in the burner area when this happens? If so then the thermostat is not shutting the ignitor off and needs replacing. If there is no glow then the gas valve is not shutting off the gas and needs repalcing

AGR5844VDW oven not lighting

Most modern ovens have a glow bar ignitor, not a spark ignitor. It will glow a bright orange and then the oven valve will click open and allow gas through and the burner lights. Many gas ovens have a small shutoff handle located on the silver appliance regulator, which is located either behind the stove or at the bottom behind the oven drawer. Make sure it has not been accidentally closed. It will cut off gas to the oven only.

I have a maytag gas stove model #MGR5775QDQ serial # 14863475CX the oven takes a long time to light and when it does it will not maintain a temp.

Hi,
You have a bad ignitor to your oven. Part number you should replace is 12400035. This should fix this problem. Just because it glows does not mean it work correctly, it works off of the flow of electricity rather then the glow of the ignitor.

I have a 2003 gas oven, model #JGBP28BEK3WH. All the top burners kick on but the oven doesn't. I can set the oven to preheat but so far it never lights. Please help.

You probably have a bad ignitor in your oven. The gas will not turn on until the ignitor glows red hot - less resistance and more current for valve to open. This can be replace by a repairman or a tool savvy homeowner. If you call a repair man, your looking at 150.00 to 200.00. Part can be from 50.00 to 110.00. I usually charge 110.00 plus the price of the ignitor.

Grill will not ignite-glow pug is bright red

Hi,

Just because it glows that does not mean it is not bad...
The ignitor is not working right and is going bad....
have the repair man replace the ignitor, or DIY....

Whirlpool GJC3654RS 36 inch "surface hot" light just stays on now.

Hi,
Your ignitor is bad... as crazy as it sounds they need to pull X number of amps. like 3.2 to 4.5 to make the gas vavle open up. Your ignitor is glowing but is not pulling enough current to trip the gas valve open.

Stove top gas flow and gas oven bake cycle not igniting

This most likely is the solution for the bake problem you have:
Find the bake ignitor (you may need to remove bottom drawer or oven cavity floor to get to the ignitor). Turn on the bake. If the bake ignitor comes on (starts glowing after a few seconds) - check the amperage on the bake ignitor wires when it's on. If the ignitor is a round style - amperage should be 2.5-3A, if the ignitor is rectangular - 3 - 3.6A. If less than 2.5A or 3A respectively - replace ignitor. If the ignitor does not come on - check the voltage on the ignitor, should be the line voltage 110-120v AC. If there is a line voltage on the ignitor and it's not coming on - replace.
Ignitor part numbers for round style ones: 4342528, WB2X9154, SGR403, 5304401265;
rectangular styles: 12400035, WB13K21, WB2X9998, SGR412, NR020, 5303935066, 814269, 9753108.
Ignitors of the same shape (i.e. rectangular) are interchangeable, if you can splice the wires.

Good luck!

Maytag clothes dryer flame won't stay lit

Usually this is the two gas valve solenoids, though it can also be a bad flame sensor or thermo. The solenoids are easy to change, they are right in front and usually have two screws holding them down. Order new solenoids by model number. Once you have the new ones you will see how they look and where they go on your gas burner. Just make sure you make not of the wire positioning and install the new ones the same way. Usually 3 wires on one side and two wires on the other. Parts are pretty cheap. Before I replace these I put an electrical testor on the solenoids to test if there is 120 volts coming in when the burner stops working. If their is 120 volts and the ignitor is glowing then you definitely have bad solenoids. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists.

One of 4 burners doesn't spark/light -- GE JGP979 Cook Top

I am going to assume you hear the "clicking" sound when you try to light the burner.
open the top of the stove. there are four burner. look at the one that is not lighting. use a straighten paper clip open the holes that is directly in-front of the tube that is facing the center of ignitor.
also make sure that the air vent directly behind the knob is fully open.
