Question about Brother Multi-Function Center MFC-240C All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

I cannot open the paper draw to refill

Printer is a Brother DCP 135C

I had a paper jam - there was a tiny piece of paper caught up in the corner of the roller - I cured that problem and the printer works ok, but I will soon need to refill it with paper.

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

often there is a corner of paper or other paper jammed somewhere in the paper path. open up the paper path and look carefully throughout the path for small pieces of paper. sometimes a piece of a component could break off and also cause jamming.

First of all you must read here and try to remove even any tinyest bit as it may cause problems.
this link has full explaination with screenshots.

if this doesn't help problem lies in the roller itself where some little pieces of paper jammed inside the printer therefore causing it to show that error. Another possibility is that the signal detector near the roller is faulty already.

I have a brother DCP-135C with a printer jam. I followed the instructions in the user guide and believe I have removed all the paper but still get the paper jam message. When I unplug then plug it back in...

for this model, normally the paper is stuck behind., you can open the rear part of the printer and check if there is any paper stuck there.
lift up the scanner unit and switch on the printer, does the sound come from the print head side, it could be due to the print head getting stuck... the encoder belt might be damaged...

First paper jammed. Got ALL of it out for sure. But won't print.

There is a paper sensor flipped the wrong way or broken. Many sensors in these printers use a small sensor with a plastic flipper that the paper engages. Get inside with a flashlight.
