Problem for Ulead Videostudio 8 for PC

Serial number

I bought a videograbber for Xmas present which came with
ulead videostudio 8. The packaging was discarded on Xmas day but the instructions say that the serial number was on the bag that the disc was in!
Result = cannot register without serial number. Can not use software.
Any ideas?
