I also have the same problem with my Epson c88. All the other ink cartridges print except black. I've tried 2 different brand new black ink cartidges and multiple head cleaners and still no black ink will print.

Are all 4 cartridges completely failing to print, or is it just the black that's the problem?

Hi Kontiki28. It seems you either have seriously blocked black ink nozzles, or you have faulty black ink nozzles. You can try the nozzle cleaning method described below, but remember it can take quite a while.

Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head moves out of its parking position, pull the power cord out of the back, or turn the printer off at the mains. You may now carefully move the print head by hand over to the left hand side out of the way. Look inside the print head parking area on the right and you will see a small rubber cup that comes up to cover the print nozzles when the head is parked (to stop it drying out). Use a syringe or dropper to fill this cup with head cleaning fluid or distilled water. DO NOT USE TAP WATER. Carefully push the print head by hand fully into its parking position so that the cup full of fluid comes up over the print head. Do not turn the printer on at any stage in this process. Leave this for at least 24 hours, then turn the printer on and try a head clean/nozzle check again. If you get any black ink on the nozzle check, then there is hope! Repeat the process until you get a full black nozzle check.

If nothing, repeat the process once more. If still nothing, post a new comment detailing what you have done and the results.

My printer goes through the motion of printing but the paper comes out blank. I've an hp deskjet d2360 and there is ink in it

Possibility cartridge print head dry.

Solution 1:
Do a clean process
cartridge automatically. Press START - Control Panel - Printers and Faxes - HP Deskjet d2360 right click and select Printing Preferences - Select the Color tab - select Printer Services - select Clean cartridge, wait for the cleaning process is completed - Perform Test print. If the print test results, has good graphics, press Finish. If the graph is not clear or drop out, repeat the cleaning process once again.

Solution 2:
1. Open the cover printer, cartridges will move to the middle position.
2. Remove the cartridge (be careful, do not touch the element cartridges or print head by hand), then stick the tip cartridge (print head) to clean water
3. Then, attach the print head to a tissue paper. If there is a tissue paper used in ink (black cartridges, black block lines, and color cartridges, three color red yellow blue lines), means the flow of ink to the print head is normal. If the
tissue paper no trace of ink, attach back into the water, repeat the above process.
4. After process is complete no.3, clean the cartridges with a tissue paper (careful, do not touch the element cartridges or print head by hand, because it will damage the cartridge). After cartridge clear of the water, insert the cartridges into printer.

Print heads need to be cleaned.. physically cleaned... the clean print heads option has been used 7 times with no improvement... it is as if there is a scrap of paper blocking where the ink head injects...

If you open the cover to change the printer cartridges the cartridges should center for you check to make sure the shipping tape has been removed from the cartridges also you should be able to see if any paper is blocking the heads.

Printer won't print. It pulls the paper in and appears to print but then the paper comes out blank. I changed the ink cartridge and same thing--no ink appears and the paper comes out blank.

Hi amy, what is the model of your printer? If your printer is Canon or HP, I can conclude that the problem was your printer's chip detector or something related to that part of the printer that reads your cartridges.

But if your printer was Epson, the ink cartridge is not the problem, the problem is with your printer head. Printer head of Epson differs from canon and HP which are attached to their own cartridges. If your printer head got clogged, then it would never print, it needs to be clean.

Epson has a built in printer head inside your printer, that means if you will change the cartridge with a new one, it doesn't help at all unless you will get your printer in a cleaning mode. If the cleaning doesn't help you can bring your printer to the nearest printer technician.

I changed the black ink cartridge and the printer

Calibrate your new blank ink cartridge, have some nozzle check, cleaning check, and printer alignment. This are procedure that new ink cartridge will have to calibrate before you use. Epson printer are very sensitive when capable of changing ink cartridge. Unlink HP directly work without any print test because the cartridge head and ink join together, Epson with ink cartridge and the head separate.
Have some test on it at Printer Maintenance.
I'm sure 100% works on it.
Good luck!

We changed the ink and the red light and green

Some times you need to find the epson tools that comes on the CD to reset the printer. If you have upgraded the computer you may need to update your drivers at the epson sight.
Once you have opened the epson tools try cleaning the print heads.
then it should reset the inking system to default and read the new cartridges. If this doesn't work try shutting down the printer and removing the ink cartridges, restart the printer and allow it to find no cartridges the go through the process of reloading the ink cartridges again and cycle the printer.

If this doesn't work you may need to try and find a cleaning cartridge for the print heads. Since the printers always check to see if ink is getting to the print heads if there is no ink flow it will always come up like there are no ink cartridges installed.

Hope this helps

Make sure paper is in properly they can be very picky about that.
Try turning it off wait three minutes and turn back on.
Then
Push Paper refill button Wait for cycle and see if paper light stays off if so...
Push the ink button

All 8 new ink cartridges, new MT tank, nothing prints. it goes thru the motions of rinting, but no little to no ink is on paper, less and less ink each subsequent print. Most recent print has a hint of...

take your ink cartridge out from your printer. you can see at the ink carriage there are little pipes where the ink usually flow from cartridge. If head cleaning and power cleaning does not work, then try to clean those pipes by using 96% alcohol fluids and **** the pipes using something.

HP deskjet 920C replaced both ink cartridges and now it prints in

When we see high page volume in these printers, the cleaning ink resorvor needs to be cleaned. It may be even to teh point of stopping the head cleaning carriage from functioning.

It sounds like it is not priming and wiping the head of the cartridges correctly.

You can also try setting the head of the cartridge on a damp warm (water wet) paper towel. If there is ink coming out onto the paper towel you know it is the printer not the cartridge. If you are not seeing any color then I would change the cartridges again.

Canon iP90 stopped printing in BLACK

hi... it might be that you need some time to let the ink absorb into the pads in the print heads ... this can take between a few hours and a day... Must be frustrating to deep clean three times and just seem that you are wasting ink cartridges, my "solution" would be to give it time or possibly clean the print heads manually.. hope it will solve it out..

thank u!!

Epson c60 printer

Common problem with Epson Printers.
Either the print head is clogged, or the tube that goes from the pump to the printhead fell off.

Open the printer cover so that the ink cartridges are in open view and then UNPLUG THE PRINTER" so that the ink cartridges wont go back to home position. (If there is a change INK cartridge button, then press that then uplug the printer when the cartridge stops moving.)

You can try to clean the print head by folding up a couple paper towels, then saturate it with windex with amonia. Place it under the print head assembly and manually move the print head assembly over the paper towel back and forth to clean the bottom of the print head assembly. You should start seeing ink on the paper towel.

After cleaning, run the cleaning program that Epson has, and try it out.
If it still doesn't work, then you might have to repeat this a couple more times.
If it still doesn't work, then it might be time to get a new printer.
Hope this info helps.
Good luck.

Printer doesn't print even with new ink cartridges.

Remember to remove the Seal Tape from the Top of the New Ink Cartridge as well as from the Bottom ! !

If a “Head Cleaning” cycle makes the Test Pattern worse, STOP.

Disconnect the Printer from the Computer.

Press the “Cartridge Change” button for ~ 3 Seconds.

When the Ink Cartridge Carriage travels to the Changing Position PULL THE POWER PLUG (NOT the “OFF” Switch). The Ink Cartridge Carriage should now Slide Freely on the Rail as long as it isn’t pushed to the Right so that it goes under the shelf to the “Homed and Locked” Position.

Fold up a Paper Towel (About 1 Sheet) so that its final width is about the same as the width of the gutter under the Print Head on the Carriage and so that it is thick enough when folded to contact and lightly press on the Print Head.

Saturate the folded Paper Towel with ~ 70% Isopropyl Alcohol and lay it in the Gutter.

Manually slide the Carriage and Print Head Over the wet Paper Towel. A slight amount of drag should be experienced if the thickness of the paper towel folds is Correct.

Let the Print Heads rest on the Saturated Paper Towels for a few Minutes or Hours. Too long a Treatment may pull out all of the Cartridge’s Ink: Check the Paper Towel Frequently to Assess if Ink is Capillarying out onto the Towel.

When the Treatment appears Successful remove the Paper Towel and Clean Up and plug the Printer power back in.

Run a Test Pattern via the Computer Connection WITHOUT first running the Head Cleaning Utility.

If the pattern isn’t OK, Try Running the Head Cleaning Utility to see if it makes it Better or Worse.

If Worse, Repeat the Alcohol Paper Towel Treatment: The Paper Towel may be Gently Pulled back and forth under the Print Heads to wipe them off.
