Dell inspiron 6400 screen problem

Hi there!
I Have Dell laptop INSPIRON 6400 for last 3 years and recently I have problem with monitor. No image on it only vertical lanes, back light working ok so screen looked to be white. I connected external monitor and laptop works ok, so I replace screen and that didn’t fix problem then I replace video cable and still no joy, at this stage I’m running out of ideas, didn’t try replace inverter back light working ok so I don’t its inerter can inverter effect image on lcd? Any chance you can help me my warranty expired, please help Val

    I don test like you set and that what I get



    LCD test

    LCD connection ok

    LCD inverter ok

    LCD Graphics test error Code 0334

    Msg Error Code 2000-0334

HI

Please run a diags on the system by pressing FN+power button and posts the results. Also try booting to safe mode by pressing F8 when you start the system posts the results, I will be able to definitely help you with this.

    with the error code what it means is that, when the "do you color lines" i believe either u dint press y for yes or press n for no or did not give a response. does the screen looks fine in the diags??? if it looks fine its an issue with your operating system.
    try to boot to safe mode and check??

Hi Dominic
You need to buy a new computer, a Mac ideally.
A possible work-around for the 'not going full screen' problem would be to sit much closer to the screen, making the images appear larger.
If you could get hold of a magnifying glass from ebay this may help too.

Here are my recommendations for this issue:

1. Reseat the battery.
2. Remove All External Components
3. Check the battery connectors on the battery and the system. Examine the connector on the battery and the system. Make sure that there is no physical damage and that it is clear of debris.
4. Remove All External Components
5. Try a known-good battery in the system, if available.

Yes, if you can see a very faint image on the screen that indicates that the inverter or inverter coil has become defective and needs looking at or replacing.

Most probably the seating of the processor on the motherboard is not proper
