Hi ,
Power drain would be a better solution in this case.
1.first shut down the comp
2.unplug the charger
3. remove the battery
and after press and hold the power button for 60 seconds without any charger and the battery. After the 60 seconds replug the battery and the charger and turn the computer
if it doesn't resolve go to device manager and go to the last option USB controllers and uninstall all the USB related drivers and after that restarted the computer.

Hi Lasiya,

As there is no specific driver for your webcam, I´d suggest that you visit THIS PAGE: and run the system update, as you update your operating system at Microsoft’s homepage.
All you need to do is follow the on screen instructions.

I have lenovo 3000 N100 0768HBQ laptop, recently i installed windows Xp but my webcam is not detected, i downloaded liteon and chicony camera driver but problem is still there..in system tray i click on...

Hi smartmint909,

i see that you tried the chicony camera driver and it did not work, have you tried downloading the Bison Driver for your camera to see if it will work?

also you mentioned that the Fignerprint reader does not work as well, and you also mentioned that you installed XP on the machine. If i may ask what windows do you have originally on your machine before installing XP because on a Lenovo machine it is big NO to install a different version of Windows from what it Originally had for the reason that some device may not be detect even if you are in stalling the correct drivers.

The Lenovo Windows is an OEM Version and does not have the same files like the Microsoft windows some of the OEM files are altered for lenovo purposes only and if you will install a retail version of windows then you may need to update your system BIOS to be able to make some of the system device s work as normal.

try reinstalling the system back to the original windows that it had before, you will again be able to use the Fingerprint reader and the camera using the same driver you had before.

i hope this clears things out.

Have a nice day,

Web cam not working..

sounds like maybe another program, something that starts automatically is trying to use the camera, or the drivers have become corrupted.

Try checking all start up programs to make sure nothing is starting and automatically grabbing the camera. Generally only one program can use the camera at a time, so this might be the case.

If you can't find anything, try reinstalling the camera but removing the drivers and reinstalling them.
