The gps does not respond

I left the gps disconnected in the car in the cold for 8 hours. then i tried to turn it on. there was only the welcome screen. i recharged it but it does not respond to switching off or on.

i used my tomtom go 700 when using it suddenly the lights goes off then i'll try to turn on again then it dosnt work i though its the battery low,when i charge it the green lights is on but it dosnt turn it on.pls you can help me thats will be great help.thanks

Same issue. Working one time then dead the next. Green light comes on when charging but cannotg boot the gps at all. Help Please

A friend of mine had a similar problem it was the battery and it was killed took it back to shop and got a new one it was 4 months old.

My garmin 205 turns off when t start to run but will for 13 hours just sitting there.

If your Nuvi won't turn on, it's possible that it's locked up. Try using the reset button as follows.

Nuvi 3xx & 6xx Series: The reset is located on the rear of the unit, underneath the antenna. Press and hold it for at least 8 seconds and then release.

Nuvi 7xx Series: Slide the On/off power switch to the left and hold for at least 8 seconds and then release.

Nuvi 2xx & 2xxW: There are (2) different versions of this series.

Some will have the reset on the bottom, where the decal is. There will be a small flap labeled "reset".

On newer units, slide the On/off power switch to the left and hold for at least 8 seconds and then release.

Wont turn on

How do you turn it on ? Power button needs be pushed left to turn on, right is locking device.

If this does not work, check charging the device. Plug it in charger for 4 hours.

If all this is OK, you should reset device
Hold power button on left for 8 seconds. Release, then restart normally.

The touch screen on my magellan 5310 no longer responds to anything. It is 3 months old and barely used. I used it for 3 days driving to Florida. The next trip it stopped responding to touch sfter 2...

an reset or an update might fix it, but if it doesnt, its still under warranty!

turn on your 5310 and locate the reset on the bottom left of your unit (small pinhole) use a paperclip to insert and depress the reset switch.

if that fails and you want to try an update, you can get the 4.72 update HERE you have to sign in and register before they will let you download anything.

to send it in for warranty repair or replacement call the number listed below.

Dont leave sat nav in car as it kills battery,try removing memo card if installed hold in reset button few seconds ,reinstall card if fitted and try boot up

My Navigon 2100 is not picking up a gps signal

try and get your money back!!
GPS should a signal in a couple of minutes,they can be slow on occasion,but yours sounds like it's dead.

hope you used a credit card,at least then you have a little more leverage if you dispute the charge.

Nuvi 760 suddenly stopped working - will not turn back on

Try holding the power slide to the left and holding it there for 8 seconds. If that doesn't work, try charging it via your PC & USB cable. If that doesn't work, try a mains charger if you have one (I had to do this with mine). Good luck!

Will not come on.

GPS units should never be permanently left in vehicles. The vehicle interiors get way too cold or hot depending on the climate you live in and is very damaging.

Try taking it indoors and connect it via the supplied a/c wall charger and see if it turns on.

Fine Digital FineDrive 400 GPS Receiver Problem

The company went bankrupt. I get a "unable to read map data error". Called for over a month, sent email after email. Finally contacted a company that fixes Finedrives and they told me the company (Fine Digital) is out of business and will not warranty the unit...ten months old at the time. The company who fixes these machines said that it would be cheaper to buy a new(different company) gps system compared to having them fix the Finedrive 400.
