Also unit was functioning perfectly, its only 4 months old but doesnt get used often, it usually sits on the dash in its cradle under a hat and is only plugged in when needed for long trips. I dont know if this is the cause (battery) have tried it on battery and 240 volt power and before you ask...yes I have tried it outside. As I said it was working fine then I turned it on and got the no gps result. All other parts work fine, the maps are all there etc it just wont pick up a gps signal.

My boyfriend had the same problem and as like everyone else u cant contact betterstore(ebay/oztion seller, who is also same person running navlink site).

when we had this problem my boyfriend contacted a different seller brashimports on ebay (03 9523 8899 or u can try www.brashimports.com.au) and bought a new software card off him and it fixed the problem, and now we just had another problem with our navlink as the screen has turned white and we rang him and he said screen is stuffed and so now i have to send him a pic of the screen out of the unit to see if its the same and if its the same as his screens hes gonna help us with that too, he was a lifesaver for us hopefully he can help some of you other people having problems with the navlink units as my boyriend was ready to use a hammer on it both times.

Which cabel is the trigger wire on navlink joyous

your usually looking for a blue wire or one that says remote on it. you can also check the output voltage of suspected wires, you should be getting between 5 and 7 volts.

I love my Navlink GPS but it now fails to work when plugged into lighter socket. If it is switched off, it charges, but it doesn't charge when switched on: thus, while operating, the battery runs out.

Hello,

It sounds like the battery in the unit is beginning to go, it will have to e sent in for repair. But try giving it a quick firmware update using Garmins WebUpdater it could possibly fix your issue.

Nuvi 250w keeps shtting off when i try to turn it on. Batteries are charged

It is possible that the unit says its charged and everything appears fine however if the battery dielectric has perished as soon as its under load it will turn off you need to replace the rechargable battery. This needs to be done by a Garmin Dealer.

NAVLINK NO GPS SIGNALand sometimes shows grey signal strength which means not strong enough to receive, help needed to fix this problem. tthanks

Happened to me recently,  showing grey signal bars but never locked (turn blue) so I was quite frustrated by it as I've only used the system a few times.  I have chased up a few suggestions from the web & the one I tried work.   Some suggested using Sirfdemo to reset the GPS receiver to NMEA mode as they could accidentally go into SIRF mode if the device is left active but has no view of the sky for an extended period (can easily happen if you left the unit in standby mode and placed the GPS in the glovebox).   The other solution is to remove the battery for anywhere from 24 hours to 7 days so that the SiRF chip capacitor will reset itself ...this is the solution I tried -  I left my unit without the battery for about 5 to 6 days and it came back to life again,  I've read some people left their GPS (albeit not Navlink) off for 4 days but still didn't work but retried again for 7 days and it worked.  Remember, once you place the battery back in I think the capacitor is charged up again so if it was not left off long enough you'll have to start counting from day 1 again.   All the best.  Jono

Dvd Gps Navi not exist

This took me weeks to solve because they dont give you a decent manual. It is necessary to have a good map on your sd card. You have to go into your map setup software and tell it which serial port and baud rate to use. otherwise it will display as you state.

My navlink gps says "not find navigation software"

If you haven't already fixed this; try going into, settings, navsetup, - this should give a Path of navigation software line, this line should read: '\StorageCard\iGO8\iGO8.exe' click on file icon at end of the path window "select storage card, select iGO8.exe, select tick to apply then exit.

This works for mine but I assume that if an alternative software is shown in the path window you must choose an approppriate .exe file in the storage card files.

Had you downloaded new camera positions? I had to delete everything on the SD Card and reload it from the "card back up" on the CD. Good luck
