Show autocomplete suggestions turns itself on

Although "Show Autocomplete Suggestions" is unticked - this will suddenly turn itself on again.

Have checked that this is turned off for all templates.

It is when the user closes and reopens word but not every time.

We have also checked the normal.dot.

I would begin with trying to reinstall word could just be clitch. Make sure you do not say yes to erasing all your personal files.

Can anyone help my autocomplete in outlook 2010 has stopped working

There are a couple of reasons why the AutoComplete function in your Outlook email account does not work. First, in order for AutoComplete to work, you must have at least once typed in the full email address you want to complete automatically, otherwise Outlook has no history from which it can draw. Second, AutoComplete may be disabled. You must enable AutoComplete for it to work.

Open Microsoft Outlook and click the "Tools" menu. Click "Options." Click "Preferences" and select "E-mail Options." Click "Advanced E-Mail Options." Click to add a check to the "Suggest names while completing To, Cc, and Bcc fields" box. Click "OK." Hope this helps.

How to disable Google Autocomplete:

If you don't want to see Google search queries based on your web history, you can control how personalized autocomplete works. Here are your options:

  • Sign out of your Google Account while you search on Google. If you aren't signed in to a Google Account, your search experience may be customized based on past search information linked to a cookie on your browser. Learn how to turn off these customizations.
  • Remove particular searches from your Web History at www.google.com/history or by clicking the "Remove" links that appear beside personalized predictions.
  • Remove Web History from your Google Account.

HOW DO I DELETE SEARCH THE WEC HISTORY

  • In Internet Explorer, click on Tools, Internet Options.
  • On the General tab, click Clear History.
  • You may also want to click Delete Files... and Delete Cookies...

Internet Explorer also stores information you have entered in forms (including search boxes) so that it can save re-typing the same information. This feature is called AutoComplete. To clear the AutoComplete list:

  • Click on Tools, Internet Options.
  • Select the Content tab.
  • Click AutoComplete...
  • Under Clear AutoComplete history, click Clear Forms.
hope this helps you out.

How do I clear my autocomplete in Chrome? I have forgotten to hit Tab between entering my username and my password on one or two sites so when autocomplete kicks in I see two options - one is my username...

In the upper righthand corner of your browser, click on the wrench looking icon (customize and control Google Chrome). Click Options. Click Personal Stuff. Click Passwords. You can now go in and delete the passwords that are causing you the problems. When you go back to the website, you can reenter your passwords the way that you want and Google Chrome will save them correctly.

Hi,

Two things you need to do to get it resolved.

1) Clear the private data like Cookies, Internet Files

Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> General -> Delete Files n Delete Cookies

2) In the same windows find the tab Contents -> AutoComplete

- Under this untick the Forms, User Name & Password
- Clear the passsword by clicking the button

Once done close the internet explorer and open it again.

Now every thing will be fine.

Windows word 2003 Autotext not working.

Not sure what problem you are having with AutoText. One problem could be that you do not have the show autocomplete suggestions checked off. To do this go to Insert, AutoText, then AutoText, and look for the tab AutoText. Make sure the check box marked show autocomplete suggestions is checked off. There can be other parts of the Auto text that is not working for you and you may be able to look around in the other tabs to find the part that is not activated. If you give me more information I might be able to answer a more specific question.
