Question about Kodak EasyShare EX1011 Digital Picture Frame

My kodak ev1011 pic frame stopped working

I have this ev1011 picture frame that was working fine until about a week ago. I noticed it was a black screen and nothing was appearing. I shut it off and changed to a new card. The screen booted up with kodak logo and it seemed to be loading the new pictures and then it ent black. I repeated steps again except I didn't insert a new card. It booted up and started to flip through the default pictures that is on the frame pre loaded. After the second picture, again the screen went black. I can not understand unless it is busted. Tried to notify kodak but I got no response.

Screen was blank on the ex1011 the other day. Power off/Power on, I get the kodak logo and then I hear a click and the screen goes blank.

Unit shuts down. Power cycle the unit and it will reboot and display for a while. The longer the power supply is unplugged, the longer it will play but will eventually shut down. Overheating? took the unit apart and could not find a fan that might have went bad. Could power supply be heating up and failing? I am trying to find a compatible power supply to try but the plug is an oddball type.

You may try the online troubleshooting guide at www.kodak.com/go/itg and if it does not resolve the issue at the end of the guide you can fill out a form to send the frame for repair and also just an FYI the frame is warranty for one year and you must a copy of your receipt before sending the frame.

I dont have software for digital pic frame and dont know how to get pics from comp. to pic frame and i do not want to use my only memory card for pics on frame what do i do please help???

You are able top download Kodak Software on www.kodak.com/go/downloads and follow the prompts, however when connecting your frame it should show as several drives and one of those will open, the rest will give an error when trying to open. You are able to simply drag your pictures into this drive and it will display on the frame. There is no need to install the software.

When trying to upload my pics, computer says can't locate device

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Pictures don't fill screen on Kodak M820 Digital picture frame

Because a digital photo frame's display ratio doesn't always match the original picture ratio, some pictures cannot be displayed in a satisfactory manner. For example they may be rendered too small, with black borders, or they may be automatically zoomed-in and randomly cropped.

With a computer, this issue can be resolved by using generic photo editing software like Adobe Photoshop, or specialized software like DPF Manager, Digital Frame Master or FrameSize, to properly crop the pictures before transferring them to the digital frame. Without a computer, there is no other option but manually deleting incompatible pictures by using frame's built-in functions.

Also, check the settings and try the "Fit to Screen" but, with some models the width of each landscape image is stretched to achieve an aspect ratio of 16:9, which results in noticeable distortion.

I have a kodak sv1011 digital frame and it stopped showing the pics. it boots up and you can see the pics if you look closely but there is no back light so it won't display? is there a fix for this?

On the other side of your frame there is a reset button.
It is below a small hole on the left back side of the frame. You will need a poky device in order to press the button which is located within the frame.

I had the same problem. I use kodak easyshare software and load my pics on to that. Then put all the pics you want in the picture tray. Have your frame plugged into the computer with your usb cord. Then go up to File menu and drop down to "copy to". On my computer it is Folder "E" which is the drive the frame is connected to. Then pick from the Resize drop down menu " best for picture frame', then click copy. You will see the program loading all the pics to E drive. When done, unplug usb cord and you will see it loading on your pic frame. As easy as this is to do, I found it frustrating as well, but when it works, it is easy. Hope this helps
