Need to reset the code for a kenwood kdc-mpv7019

If the code is not written inside the booklet, then you will need to obtain this code from your local Dealership (proof of vehicle ownership will be required).

ok I just found this info online and they say it came from the service manual for that stereo so I hope it helps:

You will need a Kenwood RC-410 remote control. This remote works on KDC-519, KDC-X859, KDC-319, KDC-4019, KDC-MP919, KDC-X759, KDC-419, KDC-X459, KDC-MPV619, KDC-MPV7019, KDC-2022, KDC-2022V, KRC-435, KRC-535 and KDC-X959

To reset the code do the following:

1) Turn on the car.
2) The faceplate rotates out and the CODE - - - - prompt appears.
3) Press >>' and Auto keys simultaneously on the faceplate and hold for 4 seconds. (If the faceplate rotates back into the console push on the upper left top edge of the faceplate and it will flip back around. Press the Eject button and then try it again.)
4) The screen will still say CODE, but the - - - - will disappear! When this happens press the 5 key on the remote twice and it enters a K on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
5) Press the 2 key on the remote three times and it enters a C on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
6) Press the 2 key on the remote once and it enters an A on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
7) Press the 7 key on the remote twice and it enters an R on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
8) The radio goes into All Off mode and you are set! Hit the SRC button on the faceplate to select CD, Radio, etc.

You will have to contact the previous owner to get the code otherwise you will have to buy a new stereo. There is a possibilty of being able to contact kenwood they might be able to reset it but it costs about 60 dollars to do so. I'm sorry..

Your only solution is to take it into a Radio Decoding Service who should be able to remove the code leaving the radio to work without a code.

Auth Kenwood servicer can remove the security code if can prove it's not hot. He will check the serial number with data base to see if it's been reported stolen, If you have purchase reciept that will work.

Enter Menu mode
Press the [MENU] button for at least 1 second.
"MENU" is displayed.
1 Select Clock Adjustment mode
Press the [FM] or [AM] button.
Select the "CLK ADJ" display.
2 Enter Clock Adjust mode
Press the [4] or [¢] button for at least 1 second.
The clock display blinks.
3 Adjust the hours
Press the [FM] or [AM] button.
Adjust the minutes
Press the [4] or [¢] button.
4 Exit Clock adjustment mode
Press the [MENU] button.

use the reset button so it goes back to the factory preset code , and then look up the code in the Manual

I had a similar issue with a head unit in a newer Volkswagen. There was an unlock code burried in the vehicle's owners's manual.

Since your stero is an aftermarket model, I would bet the unlock code is in the manual for the head unit.
