Question about KitchenAid 24 in. KUDS01FLSS Built-In Dishwasher

Where do I add my rinse agent???

My detergent and rinse compartments are together and both have lids.  When I open my rinse compartment lid there is a circle like plug only I don't know how to open it.  It does have a line going through it and it looks like to could be opened by just unscrewing it, buy it does not unscrew and I don't know of any other place to add the rinse agent.  I do not have a manual for it.  I bought used from my daughter who moved to another state.  She lost her manual, but never used the rinse agent because she had soft water.  I do not..... complexed in  Az.

Hello,

I have the same dishwasher, KUDS01FLSS. All you need to do is pour the rinse agent (We use Jet Dry) directly into that circle like plug with the line through it that you mentioned above. It acts like a funnel.
Pour the rinse agent in slowly as it takes time to drain into the dispenser. Just watch the little sight glass to the right of the rinse agent fill funnel. It will begin to darken (or turn blue if you use Jet Dry) as the dispenser starts to get full. I just pour it in slowly and when the rinse agent does not flow down the funnel any longer, it is full. Be sure to wipe up any spills or excess rinse agent. Hope this helps you.

Good Luck,
Tom

Is the rinse agent door supposed to open during the rinse cycle...or how does the rinse liquid get out?

  • Tom Giardino Apr 01, 2013

No the rinse agent door does not open during the rinse cycle. It will remain locked until you open it to fill it. Rinse agent is dispensed automatically. I believe there are openings at the bottom of the rinse agent housing.

Rinse agent is what goes in where you unscrew that plug by the dispenser. Glasses getting etched is USUALLY due to other things contacting them during the cleaning cycle.

Dishwasher is not draining properly. Left the lid off the salt portal.

If anything other than salt can enter the salt portal, the decalcification system might get broken. I once, by accident, filled the cleaning agent into the salt compartment. The whole decalcification system had to be exchanged. The technician said, that nothing else but salt should enter the salt compartment and even leaving the lid open while using the machine can compromise its functionality.

the best way to use your dishwasher is the way it was designed.
if your unit has a compartment for jet dry or rinse agent then you should add and fill that compartment with rinse aid. try not to buy soap with any extra like soap with jet dry or shine plus . because when you fdo that sometimes customer think that they dont need rinse agent . big mistake. rinse agent is deposited at a certain time in the cycle. diod you know that is you use lets say jet dry and a soap with shine plus or rinse aid in soap the machine can over suds? as a tech trust me i have seen it.let me know if i was helpful. drop a 4thumbs up post

The Rinsing aid door keeps opening in my Bosch dishwaser

I believe paddy55 is correct about the rack position affecting the rinse agent door. When the top rack is moved to the higher position, the rack hits the latch on the rinse agent door, causing it to pop open.

Move the rack back to the lower position and see if the door stays closed.
