I have been using emachine laptop with microsoft office home and student on it.i cannot work on it because it keeps asking for product key.the one i have on the laptop is not working.please help.

The product key is basically a license / receipt that tells Microsoft you paid for the software.

So you can try tracking one down by searching the web ;)

OR you can download a trail version of Office 2010 which will allow you to use office for 30 days (usually)

Or you can use Open Office which is an open source aka FREE version of office. It's similar and not as flashy but it gets the job done.

Here's a link to Open Office.

Hope this info helps.

How can i find ms word on my computer

Thank you for contacting Fixya Support, I will be glad to assist.

In order to find Microsoft Word on your Mac notebook, you have to first know if you purchased a copy of Microsoft Office for Mac 2004 or 2008. If you have purchased either of these versions, then you just need to click on the Finder icon at the bottom left corner of the Dock to open up a new Finder window and then select the Applications folder and look for a Microsoft Office folder.

If you see that folder then you just need to open it and click on the Word icon within that folder.

If you do not locate such a folder, then chances are you may need to either reinstall the copy you have of Microsoft Office for Mac or purchase a copy of the software if you don't recall ever having purchased a copy of the software.

Microsoft Office for Mac is a 3rd party software that does not come fully installed on Macs except for a Trial version which will only remain active for 30 days unless the full version is purchased.

Hello unfortunatly i formatted my laptop recently and now my lap top doesnt have microsoft office.. so can u tell me wat should i do now..

If you have the original packaging and the official MS Office CD/DVD disks, then just reinstall the software.

If you stuck the "product-key" decal for MS Office onto the side of your computer, borrow the official CD/DVD disks from a friend, and reinstall, using their media and your license-key.

Otherwise, you'll need to buy another copy of the software.

I just uninstall ms office pro plus 2010... i have problems finding the product key and when i found it. Still the ms office is not activated. i just uninstall it...

first, you need to uninstall all ms office software from the computer to avoid conflict with office 2010.
go to control panel, go to programs and features (for vista & win7) then uninstall all ms office products. once it's done, go ahead and reinstall office pro 2010

I am wanting to re-install my OS on my Macbook pro. Will this delete my copy of MS office 2008? If so, how can I prevent this, or can I re-use the original keycode to re-install? I am running Snow Leopard...

yes it will delete your copy of ms office 08. yes sure you can reuse your original keycode to reinstall again. just keep setup and keycode of your office in safe place and reinstall it again after installation of os.

Mr Gates and crew are quite stingy about their programs so you should get your disks back from whomever you gave them to. Or bite the bullet again and make another purchase.

Alternately you could get Open Office.

Deleted Program on accident....help?

Hi Jacie316

Ok, OOPS!, The only way you're going to be able to access your word files again is to re-install MS Office. I suggest you leave it as it is, and reinstall MS-Office when you get home or try to get a copy of MS Office, because that is the only way to access your files. No need to format your laptop though. Just reinstall MS Office. and everything should be fine again. I f you just need MS Word, then when you reinstall MS-Office again, choose manual installation and untick all other installations except MS Word. In that way you do not need to reinstall the complete MS-Office but instead, just MS Word.

Hope I helped.
