we have the same washer, just installed it a few hrs ago, the first load filled so high the door blew open and our laundry room and kitchen are now flooded. We turned the water off, put the spin cycle on to drain the remaining water. When washer is off or unplugged it still fills with water when the water is not turned off

Dear Cersa, When I start washing cycle, it actually fills the drum to a level, where drum strt to overflow and water starts coming out from plce just below the dispencer in front on machine. Machine works fine for spinning. Somebody said solonoid on water line is faulty. Is it so? Please help.

Big thanx Versa. I did not check pressure switch the way you suggested. But with your valuable advise, I found another problem I want to share with every one. There was a support for the pipe coming from drum to pressure switch. This support keeps the pipe on a certain level. I found this support was not in place and pipe was falling free near the drum, although it was connected on both ends. Apparently excessive vibration of machine might caused support to move from its original place. I just put support back to keep pipe on its appropriate hight and it just worked perfectly. But without your advise I would not be able to understand the working principle of my machine.Thanx again.

To javed_iqb904, does the drum actually fill or does it seem like that water is draining out as it's filling?

To neonllama19, if it fills with the tap on and the machine off, it sounds like a defective water valve. If it never stopped filling it sounds like a defective pressure switch or hose to the pressure switch is loose or diconnected.

To javed_iqb904, does the machine fill with water even when it's turned off? If not then the water inlet valve should be ok. I'm thinking it's the pressure switch which shuts off the water inlet valve when the water reaches the proper level. If you can remove the cabinet top you should see the pressure switch closer to the right side which has a small hose and some wires attached to it. If you don't see the small hose look on the right side near the back of the tub where it might have fallen. To test the pressure switch you can unscrew it from the frame, remove the hose (if attached) and blow into it (don't blow too hard). You should hear a clicking noise. If you hear a clicking noise, test the machine by blowing into the pressure switch while it is filling with water (keep the small hose above the water level or water will come out). When it clicks it should turn the water valve off. When re-installing the pressure switch make sure the hose and the wires are secure.

Let me know if that helps.

this could be the water valve getting stuck on. you may need to replace the valve in question (hot or cold). it could be the pressure sensor that tells the machine when to stop filling. check there are no obstructions to the pipe leading to the pressure sensor, then replace the sensor (or board it is on)

Hello there:
If your cycle does not complete or The cycle doesn't advance
When the cycle should advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. than check the cold water supply line and the filter

At least on our GE front loader it is ok. That's why they are so easy on water.

The cycle doesn't advance When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Possibly the timer. next time it wont stop filling turn off the washer. if it still fills you have a water valve issue. Hope for the valve. Timers are big bucks.
