Question about Flat Panel Televisions
My Sony KLV-40S200A TV has a vertical line on the right hand side of the screen, about an inch off the edge. The line extends from the top to about 3-quarters of the display going down. The top color is blue, and gradually changes in the middle to red and the bottom is kind of pink. It started with just a small like about 5 inches in length at the center, and over time it has extended to the top of the TV.
TV was acquired summer of 2007, and it just appeared a couple of months ago.
Modern televisions have screens divided into sections. Each section controls all the rows in its area, and it is controlled by its own video separate video driver. If you are missing a line in a section, then a problem has occurred with the driver board in that area. It will be pretty expensive to fix, I hope your warranty has not just expired!
