My toner sealing tape is broken when pulling out to replace a new one. I have removed so many tapes in the past, this is the first time happened. How to remove the seal without the pulling strip?? I don't wanna dump a brand new toner. Thanks.
If any scraps of the strip are left over then try pulling it out with pliers etc. If not the strip is likely to be stuck in there. In which case I would recommend contacting your retailer.

The sensor that senses the Cartridge may be blocked by toner residue. Clean it then reinstall the new toner cartridge. If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy New Year! Thanks, Joe

SOURCE: Red doesn't print
This is a common problem with ALL of the variants of this printer that have had either a lot of pages printed, or particularly had a few leaky cartridges in them.
The problem here is not with the toner cartridge, (you'll get this with ANY cartridge you use), and your magenta cartridge will work fine in another printer (which was working properly.
The problem is dirty lenses/mirrors in the laser unit. It's quite an involve job to get to the laser unit, and even when you do get it out, you need to be extra careful when you dismantle it to clean it, otherwise you'll either scratch a surface silvered mirror, or disturb the alignment of some component.
Safest bet, if you are not sure of your mechanical abilities, is to replace the whole laser unit, or go for an exchange reconditioned printer.

Is a cartridge toner problem, only happens with some alternative toner cartridges
Try with another cartridge.(Q5942A or Q5942X)

This is a brand new toner. Sealing tape broken when pulling from the toner before using. How can I remove the seal without the pulling strip? Dismantle the toner???
Thank you for your response. I know this is an option. However, the cost of returning and replacing another toner is greater than buying a new one. I'm just thinking are there any other way to remove the strip stuck inside.
A reputable retailer should really do it at no cost to yourself. Sadly I cannot offer any advice when it comes to takeing the unit apart and removing it. Sorry I could not of been more help.
