Question about Paradigm PS 1200 Speaker

Open Question

I have a problem with my paradigm PS 1200 V01

I have had the sub for many years now. And i love it. But my problem is that to get it to work i have to plugg my speakers through the woofer. I can't use a "monstercable" "aux " cable or anything and just connect it to my reciver. And the problem then is that all the bass from the speakers dissaper. I have 4 aux outputs on the amplifier on the woofer. But i don't know witch to use. And if it is possible at all. I know it is possible with V03. Because a friend of me have it. But there is only one "output" so he can just plugg in a monstercable there and in to the reciver. I have: High pass output 0 0 to main/amp in L R Low level input 0 0 from sub out, pre out or lfe out L R Any suggestions?

How do I stop my Paradigm sub from humming and "burping?"

The amplifier that powers the sub is the source of your problems. Sounds like some power supply filter capacitors are failing.

Ps-1200-A sub woofer will not power up

Probably a blown fuse. If there's not one on the face of the amp, pull the amp and check for one next to the power cable.

Our ten year old paradigm ps 1200 subwoofer does not power up, although it is plugged in and properly connected to the receiver. Why is this? Is it a lost cause?

Disconnect the power, pull the amplifier out by undoing the screws that hold it in.
When you pull it out, look closely towards the top there is a little 1.8A fuse. It probably has blown.
Replace that and you should be back in business.

How long should a powered sub woofer last? It's on 24/7, but is not abused with long, loud playing. Mostly regular TV.I have a Paradigm PS1000, about 10-12 years old.

There's no way of telling really! Even if something did go wrong there's no reason to say it couldn't be fixed very cheaply. It could last another 10 years or it could go wrong in the next few hours.
I will say one thing after 12 years of service and never off you certainly have had your monies worth!

I have a ipod i would like to connect to my PS Series but i do not know how

Don't bother. A subwoofer will only reproduce the rumble (deep bass) end of the spectrum. You would still need other (full range) speakers for the rest of the frequencies.

But, if you must - get an adapter to convert the Ipod's headphone output to an RCA pair and jack it into the sub's inputs.

Power source

I have PS-1000 and same problem. It looks like power transformer got partially shot (reads 11 V AC instead of 56)
I just don't know if it's all the problem or there is something else. And where I can find replacement transformer?
